Trying to Get Pregnant

No AF and it will be a week tomorrow no positive HPT either

So tomorrow will be a week since AF was suppose to start but I haven't started yet I have taken several HPT over the week and they all are negative. So discouraged right now but I have all the pregnancy symptoms. It has taken them time to show up over the week but slowly as it progressed and showed up. What do you guys think about this situation im begging to think im drinking to much before bed and that's why im getting negatives in the morning any ideas?

Re: No AF and it will be a week tomorrow no positive HPT either

  • I doubt if you are using first-morning urine that dilution of the sample is the issue. It's more likely that you ovulated later & are not currently pregnant.

Have you considered charting your basal body temperatures to try to pinpoint ovulation more accurately?

  • A negative is a negative and means you are not pregnant at this time. If your symptoms are pregnancy related they would turn a pregnancy test. I would take a test once a week until you go 60 days without AF and also check out the newbie blog at the top. Also this post probably wont go over well...

If you were truly a week late & pregnant, you should probably be able to get a positive test at any time of day. It's more likely that you ovulated later & are not in fact late at all. How do you know you're late? Are you temping? Symptoms mean nothing without a positive test, they are just as likely related to PMS.

My advice is to test once a week until you get a period, positive test, or reach 60 days since your last period. If you get to that point, call your doc. Once you get your next period(assuming no BFP), start temping so you can eliminate all this guessing.

  • Perhaps call your doctor and ask for HCG blood work to confirm its not just a very slow rise in HCG levels.  Otherwise all you can do is keep testing every few days until day 60 and then request medicine to get AF going again. Drinking shouldn't affect HCG levels, but if you think it's possible you may be pregnant I would definitely stop drinking until you know for sure. Good Luck!

  • All the pregnancy symptoms and no BFP... I'd go with you ovulated later than you think.

How do you know you're late? I know others have mentioned it, but I'll say it again. Temping is a great tool. You should look into it.

+1  Geez, when did saying this (the bolded) become so popular?  Why?
Ditto. I really don't get the point of the bolded. Either a post will go over well, or it won't. This accomplishes nothing.

I wrote this when there wasn't any responses thinking it would be the first since no one had responded yet, then when it posted there was about 5 other ones on top of it that were being posted the same time as mine.

I lurk here but WTF? Why are you always telling people to pester doctors to get blood drawn and betas run? First it was the lady who wished for twins. Then it was the BSC girl who hadn't even taken a HPT because they're "too expensive". Just...don't.
Babies are expensive, TTC can be expensive w/all the opks, hpts, any fertility treatments.  However, there are dollar tree hpts for pete's sake, so call me crazy, but if someone can't afford a dollar to take a cheap test, should they even be TTC?  And it's good advice to go to the doctor - if you swear you're pregnant, but got neg hpt, something might be wrong.  Or you just might be fantasizing it all & the doctor can set you straight.

    What are you talking about?

Going to the Doctor because you believe you are pregnant but the pregnancy tests are lying to you isn't appropriate. The doctors office uses the same urine pregnancy tests as you would at home. There would be no need to go to the Doctor unless you went 60 days without a period or a positive pregnancy test. You would be wasting their time.

This thread was dead a few days ago. Why resurrect it to disagree with people, and give bad advice?
I was saying it in the sense that if OP thinks she's pregnant despite all the neg hpts, only a doctor could knock some sense into her... I was actually trying to agree, not disagree, but I guess it didn't come out right.  Also, making a suggestion doesn't mean it's going to get followed, It's not like me typing what I said ACTUALLY wasted the doctors time.
And as I apologized on another thread, I didn't realize this was an old thread.  I thought the threads got bumped down on the pages b/c activity was moving fast, not that they got bumped down due to how old the thread is.  I'll pay better attention next time, but no need to harp on me about it.
  • Apparently what I'm saying is not coming out right.  That's fine.  I'll lurk more I don't have a problem with that.  I was just trying to participate fast & I guess it's not working out so well yet.  No worries I'm not taking offense
