First I want to thank this board for all the information and encouragement you provide. Any time I come to this board with a concern, someone else has already asked the same question! It's nice to have this resource and know that I'm not alone. That being said, here's my rant: (sorry it got long!)
BFing has been going well by most standards since DD was born (now 7.5 weeks). I've been EBF and pumping a bottle for DH to feed her once a day. But she's had a big problem with gas, spitting up, WAY too many poop diapers, and a rash that seems to indicate a lactose issue. So I've been working with an LC since she was 5 weeks. I love her! We discovered her lip and tongue tie, which we've had corrected. I also have OALD and OS issues that we think are causing the other symptoms. I've stopped pumping in the morning and put my stash collection on hold to try to regulate my supply on DD'S actual demand. I also did 3 days of cabbage leaf compresses to help with this. Today was the last day, the LC told me to stop. I did notice a slight difference, however she did still gulp at the breast this afternoon. Tonight I changed her diaper and she had green mucus in her stool. Up till now it's been yellow and seedy.
I know this is a process, and identifying these issues is half the battle. Im just frustrated that I'm not seeing better results despite everything we've done these last few weeks. I really don't think this is a MSPI issue, neither does the LC. But we go back to the pediatrician in 2 weeks and I'm afraid he's going to tell me to cut dairy. I just want to get this resolved before then, for my and DD's sake. I have a message out to the LC letting her know about the green poop and asking for her insight and advice on what the next step is.
Has anyone else gone through this and have a success story or words of encouragement? Thanks for letting me vent!

Re: Frustrated and need to vent!
You definitely need to try and block feed. At least two sessions on one side. Just hold a bottle up to your other side so you can catch the natural let down, because you'll probably leak like crazy!
I had this issue with both kids. When I stopped pumping and started block feeding her sleep, gas, poop, everything got so much better.

@flcl when you pump in the morning, is that after you feed LO? Or do you pump and give a bottle? I've been waking up engorged for about a week and I try to feed her from the less engorged side and then pump the other just enough to feel relief. But neither her eating or the pump is enough to empty me out. However, even after a week of doing this my body hasn't gotten the message to make less. I ask because everything I've been told and read says that pumping will just keep telling my body to produce. Although I guess if it's going to do it anyway, then what's the harm, right?
