First menstrual cycle at 4 1/2 weeks pp

Is it normal to have your cycle return as soon as 4 1/2 weeks post partum?? I was/am still passing small amounts of discharge and 2 days ago started bleeding red heavy bleeding along with cramping, bloating, acne, the works! I am exclusively breast feeding and was really hoping it would be delayed a little longer.

I'm not sure how common it is but I think I'm having mine too. A few days ago some rust/brownish blood showed up and now it's bright red. Not too heavy though so I'm not super concerned. I am pumping about 22 oz a day so I thought that would be enough to keep the period away!

My OB said for non-breastfeeders it's common to get your first period 6 to 10 weeks PP. Not sure about those breast feeding. I got mine 7-1/2 weeks pp, but I'm FF.

When breastfeeding it normally keeps the period away for awhile.. You may just be over exerting yourself which will cause you to bleed.

I'd guess that it is just an increase in pp bleeding. It can come and go for 6-8 weeks.

In the hospital they said it could. With my son I EBF and didn't get my period until a year pp. I EBF this time too and started the mini pill at 6 weeks and got my period promptly after. WTF:)?!

Mine started yesterday with just very light bleeding stopped and today its full blown. I'm like 8 weeks pp which is normal. Wish it could have stayed away a bit longer lol

I got my nextplanon 7 wks pp, now we're 8.5 wks pp, and af is back. Stupid betch.
