I'm sure you don't need to hear it but I will say it just in case. Get a lock on your stove or a gate to the kitchen. As 'cute' as this picture is if your child does it when the oven is on, or recently turned off they can pull that door down and touch the inside, fall inside or lean inside and they will be badly burned incredibly quickly...even with an adult in the room nearby.
My nephew started doign this when he was about 14 months old and got the door open and was sitting on the door. It was NOT hot but it freaked my brother out and they very quickly got a lock for the stove door...because it could have happened just as quickly with a hot over :-(
A lock for the stove was bought today while we were out. I caught him trying to climb out of his crib today too, so we are going to have to change up his bed. No injuries needed. What a crazy month it has been with him! Lucky number 13?
There are things you can do to prevent the crib climbing such as turning around the crib if the front is lower than the back rail. Or putting the mattress on the floor as long as there is no gap between the mattress and the rails. Put him to bed in a sleep sack. Good luck with everything!
We found that just turning the bed into a toddler bed was his best bet. So we took the front rail off, and put on the toddler rail. He now goes to take naps and down for the night on his own. Very easy going baby boy
