Just wanted to share that this is a safe place i come to to learn, read and express my own opinions or answer questions. Leave the bullying around and being disrespectful at the door. Im tired of posting or reading stuff and it has gotten out of hand. It makes me sad to feel this way bc we are pregnant ladies who should support each other. For the majority of you ladies who remain pleasant and thoughtful, thank you!!

I have not seen actual bullying happen on here. That word is thrown around way to casually as of late. You were not bullied just because some people called you out about not getting bigger presents off your registry. People were expressing their opinion about the fact that you sound like a spoiled brat.
Also, this is an internet forum. You cannot dictate how people respond when you post.

But let's review what happened.

You revived a thread that died a week ago to complain that you "registered for bigger ticket items but only received small gifts" and "could not believe how nothing I needed was there." Those are your words.

People responded by calling you out for being ungrateful. Learn what bullying is, because this is not it.

And while you are preaching to others about being disrespectful, take a look in the mirror, sweetie. A group of people that care about you and your baby spent their time and their money to give you gifts. Then you came here, complaining to a group of stangers, about these people doing a very generous thing for you. That is not very respectful to the people who care about you, now is it.

Nobody was mean to you. If all your posts are as whiny as the baby shower one or this one, you will probably not like the responses you get. I'm interested to hear what other incident(s) you think were bullying or disrespectful.

I think more people need to learn what "bullying" really is. It's people like you who think this is bullying that aren't helping the children of today to learn what real bullying is like.

And I'm tired of reading how insanely ungrateful you and others are. Also, I give myself a headache wondering how in the world you all got to this point where you feel so entitled that you would actually complain about gifts you were given or "hammer" others into buying the gifts you really want.

So, you know, we all have our crosses to bear. The world is an imperfect place. Learn to cope.

But really - no one bullied or disrespected you. You got called out which, with what you posted, was bound to happen. I'm not sure in what realm of reality you thought you'd receive support for acting like a spoiled brat, but I can assure you it is not this one.

OP you sounded like an entitled brat in your baby shower post. People telling you that you sound like that is not bullying. I seriously cannot stand how MEMEME our society has become, and how entitled people like you feel to things that they DO NOT deserve. Be happy you had a damn baby shower in the first place, that people showed up to it, and that people gave you gifts! There are a lot of people on here that don't get any of that!

I am SO tired of the way bullying has become so over dramatized and published everywhere. I totally understand that there are instances of actual bullying and it is not ok but, having said that, my oldest comes home thinking she's being bullied all the time at school for someone looking on her direction with their eyes crossed. When I was younger, kids did the same crap and it wasn't bullying, the kid had an attitude problem but you didn't run to the adults and cry about it. C'mon quit acting like the victim just because someone hurt your feelings or looked in the wrong direction.

Erm...we DO support each other. You should take a look at the thread about one of our lovely mommas who had to go in for an emergency c-section. I think what you meant to say is that no one patted your head and felt sorry for you that you didn't get what you wanted at your shower...that's petty and selfish. The ladies around here don't sugar coat things, they give reality checks...and, to me, that shows that they care. They ARE supportive and show it on a regular basis.

BTW there has been zero bullying on this board. Bullying is the kids at school telling my autistic sister that she doesn't belong and doesn't deserve friends. It's them stealing her school supplies and disrespecting her personal property. This is telling you to gain perspective and get off your high horse.

I mean, I feel like if you actually posted and read stuff here (as I'm seeing you have a total post count of a whopping 12 posts) you would realize we are supportive. Things "get out of hand" when someone makes a over-dramatized post about being "bullied" like this one. Which, a) you were not bullied... you were rightfully told you were being a brat for not appreciating GIFTS that people were NICE enough to buy for YOUR baby and b) I wouldn't say anything has gotten out of hand by far in either this thread or the other one that you posted on. If you read more posts around TB, you'd see some that have truly gone overboard.

You think that people calling you out on your very entitled statement is bullying? It's not, it's called honesty. Like many others have said, if people buy you a gift, you should be gracious and thankful. You don't complain that they didn't get you anything off your registry. DH and I plan to buy everything our baby needs and have been grateful that his parents and mine have offered to buy some more big ticket items.

This board is incredibly supportive. Did you miss the post about one of our mamas having her twins early? These ladies have even offered up thoughts for my cousin's baby who was born with complications and is still in the NICU.

I can't stand that when people have a different, not mean or bitchy, but different opinion than you it's automatically bullying. It's annoying how that has become such a buzzword.

ETA: It's summer vacation, so my grammar skills have checked out!

Yes, some recent BMBs seem less nice than my first BMB too. I would shop around the Bump. There are plenty of places to receive support. Perhaps when the LOs arrive and hormones are lower, things will be nicer. Or perhaps some of the very hostile individuals will move on or chill out. I don't like the vitriol either and you will be able to find support if you shop around.

Nobody on this board who has asked for support or thoughts and prayers has been denied these things. Some of us are pretty fiesty, but I can think of no regular S14 poster whom I would describe as hostile.

Hi! Did you even read this thread??? Like for example the first post on this page by @crystalangel79‌ ??? We are super supportive in this BMB. If you have not participated in here enough to see that, but somehow think you've participated enough to judge us you can just leave.

1) Yeah, your post and how people reacted was totally just like the time I was the target of some vicious teenage girls in school and had to be careful how I walked home from school every day or I'd come home with bruises and black eyes. (#fatgingerkidproblems)

2) I have made some pretty whiny posts, but when it comes to this board and these women, they are so completely supportive to those who need it. More than once I've just ranted and raved and STILL received support for basically being a whiny brat, I think the key difference is that I try to own up to that and admit that I am just being a brat. We all have moments where we need to be a whiny brat. If you're going to act like a brat, at least own up to it and don't be angry when other people call you out on it.

3) Give respect and support to earn respect and support.

didn't you know we're the jackasses of the bump? Apparently telling someone that they need to take a step back and reevaluate how they're reacting is just us attacking with crazy pregnancy hormones though. I'm not sure it'll get better when we're all even more sleep deprived than we already are...

I cannot believe I've missed this today! Darn birthing class, keeping me away from TB!
I have nothing to say except when you are in serious search of support and comfort these ladies offer nothing but that! We have tough, strong women dealing with A LOT more serious issues than not getting what they need off their registry. When you're done being a selfish, spoiled, entitled brat, this is a WONDERFUL place to make friends, and find support and guidance. I suggest you get to know us before judging!

I feel very supported by most of the women here. Mostly by the ones in this thread actually. I don't feel supported by bratty, self entitled people who come here to whine about bullying that doesn't exist and basically bring down a whole bunch of maxing women because their shower gifts weren't big enough. Do your fucking research before you come in here and insult our BMB or any single one of these women who have responded honestly to this. Please do shop around and find somewhere else to go because frankly you're rude and insulting and we don't need that kind of crap. Bye.

Oh, right, I completely forgot. We are terrible and awful, and give absolutely no support...because when someone didn't like that her doctor, who was being thorough, was wasting so much of her time and money, it was suggested she find a new doctor that she did like.
And how dare we do that! She did not want advice on how to handle the situation, she just wanted to bitch about her doctor for weeks on end, while doc just wanted to make sure things like preE aren't an issue....

I am more of a lurker and don't post as much, but I know for a fact that these ladies are caring, supportive, and funny as hell. At least READ posts before assuming how people are. S14 is a force to be reckoned with, whether with thoughts and prayers, support and advice, or kicking people off their pedestals.

I too do more lurking than posting, but the S14 ladies are very supportive. To the Op: Others around here have much more important things to think/worry about and don't have the time/patience to coddle you because you did not get what you wanted at your baby shower...
