Moms on Call Sleep Method PSA

Well, I'm dumb and accidentally clicked March 2014 to post-- so I'm copy and pasting here where I belong :)

Hey ladies... Just wanted to pop in and recommend Moms on Call to help with sleepless nights and/or fussy/gassy babies.

I can only speak for myself, but my 6 week old has slept 12 hours in his own crib and only woke to feed twice. Dinner (pumped bottle to tank up his belly)- bed- 230 feed- 7 am breast feed.

We had him on Zantac and probiotics for reflux/gas/diarrhea but are now down to just the probiotic with no issues.

Before anyone says this book promotes CIO, we soothed every 5-10 mins for a max of 30 mins crying. The longest he cried was 20 mins the first night and has gone down easily ever since. We don't use white noise either.

I know a lot of sleep has to do with his personality, but I didn't think it'd hurt to recommend a resource to those interested.

Too young for CIO. And CIO means the babe cries until they give in to sleep.

I'm not opposed to CIO in the right setting and if its age appropriate for the child and circumstance, but not such a wittle baby.

ETA: heading over to March 14.

ETA: I mean CIO for a child of toddler/preschool age. Never an infant.

30 mins of crying?? Holy jeez. I thought letting dd cry for 5 mins was bad, I can't imagine 30 minutes.

It was 20 minutes, once. I was at his side soothing with a paci-- like most moms on an average day. It wasn't bloody murder, and he eventually fell asleep after 20 mins.

I guess give me worst mom ever award but we are going on a week of sleep and he's just as happy as ever. I love my son, and I hate mom shaming.

ETA: I didn't say it's for everyone, and didn't post to start a debate either.

  • STTN is defined by 5+ hours. I think DS was around 11 weeks when he started sleeping 8-8. Of course he also refused naps from that point until he popped his first tooth a couple of months later. That first tooth sucked!!
