March 2015 Moms

Hiya ladies...

I decided to de-lurk and cautiously introduce myself. I'm still a bit shocked that I'm posting here, actually. I have a 16 month old and last month was my first period since she was born, so I wasn't expecting it to happen right away. Since that was my first cycle, I have NO idea when my due date is. I haven't been able to chart my cycle, so I'm just guessing for now.

I took a test yesterday and a positive didn't pop up right away so I just threw it on top of my bathroom garbage can and forgot about it.. Later in the day I walked by it and saw the second line and had one of those freak out moments. I grabbed my daughter and ran to the store to pick up more tests, and sure enough...I got a faint positive on both. I'm not really having any symptoms and because the bfp wasn't exactly b & f, I'm hoping for the best but trying not to get too excited. But deep down I'm PSYCHED!

By the way, is anyone else here still breastfeeding? I'm wondering if that could be why I don't have tender breasts and wanted to compare notes with some other mamas.

Anyways, I look forward to getting to know all of you!

  • Welcome and congratulations! I haven't been bfing for a while and don't have sore boobs. Symptoms are different for everyone.
  • Congrats and welcome!  In my previous pregnancy, the OB coordinator told me since I had just stopped breastfeeding the month prior, my breasts were still stretched out and all so it was probably why I didn't have sore boobs.  That was back in February.  I haven't breastfed since January and I don't have sore boobs yet with this pregnancy either.
This makes me feel better bc I always get sore breasts when pregnant and this time nada. We quit at the end of March/early April. Welcome, OP!

This makes me feel better too! Thanks ladies!

This makes me feel better, too!  I can't remember when I had sore boobs with #1, but that's a symptom I don't have AT ALL.  I was worried that something was wrong but I weaned in January and my boobs are now deflated sacs of what they once were (which was only a B cup on a good day but now they're hardly an A).  This might explain it!
  • Congrats on your BFP!

  • I am still nursing my almost 2 year old, and my boobs weren't sore initially, but definitely are now and have been since maybe 2 days ago. I am planning to wean her next month. Are you planning to continue bfing? I need a break before number 2!
  • Congrats & welcome!

I've been trying to wean on and off for a couple months now. It's been really difficult because she is SO attached and she cries and pulls at my shirt when I try to withhold. She's hated her crib from day 1 so we co-sleep and that makes it even harder to tell her no. I feel like my body needs a break before this next one arrives. I'm hoping she'll be one of those kids that loses interest once the hormones mess with the taste of my milk, but we'll see. Just going to have to bump up the vitamins and nutrient dense food for a while.

@Ambethsco, I am in the EXACT same boat!! I have said that same paragraph to a few people! My DD just turned 19m, and it is SO hard to try and wean her! I am getting so frustrated with it, and it doesn't help that we co-slept for the longest time. We finally decided to get her in a toddler bed, but it is in our room for now, and she still nurses to sleep, and she wakes up at some point during the night and climbs in bed with us. It is a start. But I don't even know where to begin with weaning. I have the same hopes that she will self wean cause the taste of my milk changes or something, but the last couple days, we have both ended up in tears. Her cause I try to tell her no, and me cause I cave and let her. She eats some "real" food, but a lot of times she takes a few bites and then just wants to nurse. I try to encourage her to keep eating what we are eating, but if she decides she is done, she refuses to eat any more or spits it out if we manage to get something in her mouth. Ugh. I really want a break, too, before this baby comes, but at this point I feel like I am going to be nursing forever. :(

Also, my boobs don't really hurt, but the are a little tingly here and there. And it feels different when DD nurses sometimes. I am SO over it. :-/

  • @Ambethsco‌ @antsangel1118‌ wow we really are in the same boat. We recently successfully moved our DD into her own room but I was still nursing her to sleep, at least once in the middle of the night and what seemed like an hour in the morning, and then tried to limit it to once during the day, but she got really sick this week and is back in our bed and back on my boob on demand. And we are going on vacation next week so she'll nurse like crazy then too bc any time we go somewhere new she gets even more clingy than she already is. I think it makes it worse bc I work from home and she sees me all day long, and is super duper attached. I have a friend who is 7 months pregnant and dealing with the same thing-the taste apparently didn't change or make enough of a difference for her LO!
  • Congrats!
