DD and I had a girls/mommy get away with a friend down at the shore this past week. DH complained the whole time we were gone because he had to fend for himself when it came to eating. I didn't feel bad when he said he starved all week. So sorry husband!

    DH & I are both 28    Together: 12 years    Married: 09/24/2011

    BFP#1: January '12 - DD1 09/16/2012

Preterm labor 31 weeks. Monitored for Hellp and diagnosed with oligohydramnios July '12

    BFP #2: 06/25 - EDD 03/05/15 MMC confirmed 8/1 - D&E 8/4 retained tissue discovered 8/20

    BFP #3 11/24 - 12/15 Heartbeat detected - DD2 07/29/15

  • I've been working 60 hour weeks the past month and was just exhausted this week. Last night when I got home from work, I totally played the pregnancy card and just went to bed, leaving DH to do bath time and bedtime for DD and DS.

Oh my. Your husband needs to grow up.

Speaking of playing the pregnancy card, I've totally been using my pregnancy as an excuse to not have sex.

I know I'm going to use this a lot. We haven't had sex since the day I ovulated and I'm totally ok with that. We didn't do it much when I was pregnant with DD either. My low sex drive gets even lower during pregnancy, and not being able to drink doesn't help matters.

    I love tipsy/drunk sex.
  • I know this will get flamed, but o well,

I just cleaned out my cats litter box. I cleaned it all last pregnancy too.

I'm using pregnancy as an excuse to NEVER have to clean the litter box. DH does it every day and I'm totally okay with that. But I need to get him to sweep up the errant litter.

Other confession: I'm trying hard to hold off on looking at any baby stuff, but I've already started researching baby gates with cat doors. I'm terrified of baby getting into the litter box.

We have the litter box in our half bath, and we leave the door open 90% of the time (unless guests comes over). My daughter's 13 months and really hasn't had an issue with it. There was a few times where we caught her in the bathroom picking up litter, but it's been few and far between. LO will learn to stay away. Maybe you could get a lid on the box if your paranoid?

Now, the cat food and bowl are a different story... We have to keep it up on the counter or she'll eat it.

Edit: I'm already guilty of buying some stuff. There was a yard sale the other day and bought a few baby boy outfits. I only spent a few dollars. If I don't end up using them, i'll just donate :)

Yes! Me too! I already have a low sex drive and pregnancy pretty much wipes out whatever little bit was there. Poor H.
I'm on the same boat, except I always have a low sex drive. Drunk/buzzed sex is the best!

We have THREE cats and even with lids on both litter boxes (one even has steps that are supposed to help catch litter) and litter pads to help get the litter off their feet, they make a big mess. It definitely worries me. Not worried about the food. The cats hoover it down to keep the others from getting to it.
  • I bought a few things while we were trying but refuse to even think about baby stuff or maternity clothes until we are more comfortable. I didn't realize how paranoid/superstitious I was until this pregnancy
  • Normally I have a pretty high sex drive, but with DS it went way down. I know DH wishes I was one of those horny pregnant ladies. Add the worrying & poor DH is out of luck for now.

Me too!!!!  I thought I'd feel so awesome once I got a BFP - and it definitely is awesome, but it's like I'm just waiting for something terrible to happen.  I'm on Prometrium, and it delays my period indefinitely.  I'm worried I'll have a CP or miscarriage and won't even know it until much later because my Prometrium has prevented me from bleeding.  That's why I've been testing every day, to make sure I'm still pregnant.  It makes me feel like I'm going bonkers.  I can't wait to have my beta draw on Monday... assuming it's good, I have a feeling it will make me relax a little more.
  • @YellowBag - you are absolutely right.  I was just telling C that yesterday.  I was like "After the beta I'll feel better... but then I'm going to worry about the first ultrasound, the heartbeat, the anatomy scan, the glucose test, and basically every other test we'll have to take.  And then I'll worry about SIDS, infections, injuries, getting them in day care, school, college... AHHHHHH!!!"

This is just the tip of the iceberg for motherhood worrying.  How lovely.

At least after the betas I can stop using HPTs every morning, I hope.  At that point there's nothing I can do but wait for the next ultrasound or test.

Why can't pregnancy be easy and carefree?

  • I haven't cleaned my bathroom in... Well, I don't remember when the last time it was. My husband is working out of town and I've been so tired that I've entered into sloth mode. My fridge is pretty bad too.

Unfortunately, I think there will always be that next thing that you think will make you feel better.  Now that I had my beta drawn, I think the ultrasound is the trick, then it will the the heartbeat, then hitting 13 weeks...until I'm worried about college applications, and so on.  I'm pretty sure we just signed on for a lifetime of worry.
Yup, this. Worries never end, but they don't have to control your life. I still check on my almost 15 month old daughter if I wake up in the middle of the night (and she is magically still asleep and in her crib, not in our bed). It's part of being a parent.
  • @iwishiwaspreggo you still worry after birth, but it helps when you can go and check on them and see that they are alright.

  • @mayaruth81‌ I am totally guilty of this too lately! The part about her trying to sneak the remote is hilarious!
  • You no sec having bitches are missing out. Pregnancy brings extra blood flow to the pelvic region which makes for extra sensitive parts. I love pregnant sex. ::makes mental note to hump husband tonight::

I passed gas in company the other day (gas has been bad the past week). I didn't mean to, it just happened, so I sniffed my daughter's bum and blamed it on her, and excused myself to go change her.

Pregnancy gas is the WORST. Me and DH are going away this weekend without the kids. DS2 is so close to walking. I'm afraid he's going to start while my in-laws are watching him, and I'm going to miss it. It almost makes me want to stay home...almost but not quite.

I find that when you *think* they are going to start, it is weeks later and you've kinda stopped obsessing over it and then all the sudden they're like, look what I can do, nbd. Try not to worry about missing it so you can enjoy your weekend away!
  • Ha! @wendyld, I'm with you! I love pregnant sex! Well, any sex, really, but I'm def not one of those women who are turned off once they are pregnant! lol
