I'm beyond excited for the 4th of July!
Our wedding anniversary is July 3rd!
We are going on a 3 day Bahama cruise and DD gets to spend time with my mother (who lives across the country) while we're gone!

My family likes to BBQ and light stuff on fire. Fire works are all pretty much game around here, they don't ban much! I personally don't like to buy the fireworks, it feels a little bit like literally lighting your money on fire but I know that feeling will change when we have kids to appreciate the theatrics. After all, that's why my brothers spend hundreds of dollars on it!

I'm working in the morning, and on Saturday (Boo!) but Friday night we'll be going to a friend's house for a BBQ, swimming and fireworks. Last year another friend bought a ton of fireworks to set off. I think he's planning to do it again this year. Everyone in the neighborhood was coming over to watch our display. (Yes, we're those neighbors, but we were completely done by 10. None of that setting stuff off at 2 and 3 am crap.)

We have my aunt and uncle's 4th of July/birthdays for their kids party. All 4 of their kids' birthdays fall between July 3rd and July 14th. Crazy!! They also lives right down the street from the park that sets off the fireworks, so you can see them really well from their house. Every year they have a big pool party & cookout and then we all watch the fireworks from her yard/pool. You don't have to worry about traffic or finding a place to sit. It's a good time.

Everyone's plans sound like so much fun. I LOVE fourth of July and it may just be my favorite holiday.

Our town does a soap box derby in the morning, a parade during the day, and fireworks at night, but this year my parents are having a barbecue so we may forego our tradition and go down to celebrate with them instead. Our neighbors are having a party on the fifth so we'll continue the celebration.

My grandfather passed away on Sunday. We won't be able to make it out for the funeral which is this weekend, so we are heading to Arizona to see my mom the following weekend, which just happens to be the 4th. While I wasn't very close to my mom's dad, I know that our visit will give my mom something to look forward to, and the grandkids will help lift her spirits a little.

We won't be able to stay more than Friday and Saturday, and it's going to be ungodly hot in Arizona in July, and I am not particularly excited about 30+ hrs round trip in a car while 25w pregnant- but I would do anything to be able to hug my mom right now.

They have a water park with a slide and such at my mom's community center- the kids will have fun and enjoy the 4th with a BBQ, even if they don't realize that the reason for our road trip is because great-grandpa died.

It's my wedding anniversary on the fourth!!!
We'll be camping like we always do. I'm SO excited! For the record, we go tent camping.

We will be going to a rodeo, and then watching the fireworks. It doesn't start until 7:30pm, so hopefully it won't be too hot. I work the first half of the day.

We're going to my best friend's house for bbq and fireworks. She has two daughters that DD adores so she is always highly entertained and has a great time at their house.

Ditto to the womp camp of no drinking. I'll make it up with food. sigh.

We are supposed to be going to the beach so my DH can meet my 87 year old aunt for the first time. In the meantime, my DH has his first day of summer class on July 3 (stupid day to start a class when you have a 3 day weekend after just one day of school). I'm not sure if we will be able to make it or not. It will be a very short trip.

I'll be going to my sister in laws house for a party, but leaving before the boys start setting off firecrackers. I hate the loud noise. I like to sit in my front yard and watch them from the beach. And btw my wedding anniversary is july 7. So we will go out some time over the weekend.

We are hosting our first BBQ! Expecting 25 - 30 people, so a bit nervous!

My parents are visiting for a long weekend, which is exciting because they haven't seen my bump and just learned of the pregnancy a few weeks ago. I know my mom is dying help with our registry (read: start our registry!), see the furniture that we picked out and meet with the event coordinator at our club to begin planning the shower (I am not involved!). DH is golfing quite a bit (as usual) so it will be great to catch up with my parents, though I'm a bit bummed my siblings can't make it.

It's also my favorite holiday! I'm making a whole bunch of 4th of July goodies like red, white & blue cupcakes and drinks. We will probably watch fireworks and hang out with our neighbors. We have get togethers with all the neighbors on our street quite often and it's a lot of fun.

@breandmikewedding We will be in Tucson. I lived there briefly before college, but I don't think what I remember as 'hot' is the same as 'what hot actually feels like' + 'hot while pregnant.' #:-S

We just moved, so I'm not really sure of our plans. With me being a reporter and my husband being a firefighter, I don't so much "love" July 4 as everyone else because we definitely always end up working. But I am so happy to have a three-day weekend.
