Can anyone recommend a double stroller? I know we don't really need one,
but my mother in law is INSISTING that we do, so instead of fighting
it, I'm going to embrace it and get something nice (instead of something second hand like we usually do). I'd like something
that has dual recline, and should be a jogging stroller (we have a lot
of wide hiking trails that we like to take our strollers on). TIA!
Re: Recommend your double jogging stroller
If you're really into off road hiking and terrain or jogging, look into something like Bob or Baby Jogger's running strollers. If you do mostly city walking and paved trails, then the Select might work for you. But it isn't a running stroller. Neither are any of the City models.
We have a Valco Baby tri mode twin. We don't jog at all, but we live out in the boonies. I push it around the horse pastures to fix fence. It goes down our dirt roads with ease. It also still fits through the a single door. So taking it to the mall or what not is not much different than our old single Jeep Liberty stroller.
Our older girls are 26 months apart, but I never had a problem with it being hard to push with the different weight. I didn't buy the infant insert, or a car seat adapter. I just wear the baby when they are that little.
Two things sold me on this one. The height under the canopy. (Our girls are in the high 90% for height.) And the fact that I can buy a jump seat to turn it into a triple. I haven't decided if I'll do that yet as our oldest will be 4.5 by the time the new baby is ready for the stroller...but I like having the option...especially when we go to outdoor festivals and such. It's sturdy with a nice big foot rest I've been known to sit on at outdoor festivals. It also has an adjustable handle so my daughter can push it and so can my husband.
Cons...it is big and heavy...even folded up. It was no problem with I was driving the truck...and right now while I have the third row folded down in the new van. But it takes up 2/3rds of the cargo room in the van if you have the third row set up. So there won't be much room for stuff. It's also probably heavier than other duels as it's able to carry up to 300 lbs of kids/stuff. It also has a tiny basket underneath with a bar in the center so diaper bags do not fit down there. We have the momma clips to fasten all our bags to the handle bar.
