I have and hope to do it again! We have become very close in my BMB spin off group and one of my favorite people happens to live in the same city. My husband thought I was crazy for going though.

I understand that parenting is a social thing, so meeting someone from your BMB sounds normal to me. However, TTC is...not a social activity (IRL) so as someone who has never had a BMB, no I've never had a desire to meet a Bumpie.

TTC is really not a social thing gathering type of thing, so I totally get this.

I get what you're saying but the board isn't just about trying to get pregnant. A lot of people's personalities and other interest are a huge part of what is discussed here.

I've met a handful of people and *almost* met a couple others had it not been for things not going as planned on my road trip.

One of the girls I met on TB used to come over (with her husband) and play board games with us all the time. Then we both moved away and she had her baby. But we still keep in touch.

I would definitely not be opposed to meeting up with other people so long as I didn't get a weird vibe from them on here and I thought our personalities wouldn't clash.

I have a list of people I intend to meet in the near future and a vague list that I would like to meet one day.

Of course not, although that was my point. Meeting members of your BMB you bring your kids. Meeting members of TTGP you don't HIO right there. I'm just saying the draw isn't there for me the way it would be if I had a child

I haven't met anyone yet, but I would definitely consider it. I met my husband online and things are going well with that, so I don't see why I can't make friends online too. ;-)

This was my thought exactly. I too met DH online, so why couldn't one make friends online over a common interest/time of life.

FWIW, when I met the girl from my BMB we went out for drinks and didn't bring our kids. Of course we talked about our kids some but we did a lot more talking about non-kid things. It was a lot of fun!

@Irishcurls‌ and I met during our Knot days a couple years ago. She's awesome and pretty

We went to dinner together with our husbands, as well as another Knottie and her husband (who was on the same ship as my DH in the Navy).

I also met up with another Knottie who I am still friends with IRL. We text, snapchat, talk on the phone, and we are planning on visiting again this summer.

@ETA I don't think I would do it again though.

Yup! I've met a bunch of Knotties (most of whom are TB lurkers), I ended up on the same honeymoon cruise as a girl from my wedding month board! That was fun! Met the lovely @Jags8 a few years ago (wow!). There is a group of another three I talk to on the daily--just vacationed in FL with one of them!

I've got some really good friends from my last BMB & TTGP. I've met a bunch of them IRL. I hope to meet quite a few more (you know who you are :-* ) One of the girls from my BMB was in the hospital visiting me everyday when I lost my daughter. There are amazing friendships to be made here if you're open to them.

I'm totally open to it. Funnily enough, not a lot of Bumpies tend to live out where I am (it's a large city in Texas within an hour from another pretty large city and two hours another way from an even larger city, I just find it a little surprising how few people on here are from the area), from whenever we do the 'where are you' GTKYs. So I don't have the opportunity unless I travel, which H would probably think was a little weird. He thought it was a bit odd when I did a present exchange with some MBs from TK, but he came around to it.

I was active enough on my local board on the knot to meet some "knotties" and we then moved over to the Nest together.

I've also met some Nesties who I'm still in touch with which is nice when you're traveling around the country and need some recommendations of places to go and things to do.

And I met a couple bumpies from my old BMB.

Mostly I'm in contact with the knotties/nesties/bumpies I've met through facebook. Haven't done an IRL meeting in a couple years.

I met my real life friends online first. (I really don't talk much in person. It makes forming friendships difficult. My friendships formed without internet help either have a distinct odd-couple feel or were established at work where I was REALLY in my element.)

I met a knottie (?) once... She and her husband were moving to the city I lived in and were looking for apartment suggestions. I loved my apt complex so I recommended it and they actually ended up moving in two doors down from me and DH.

Before they had actually moved, we planned to get together for dinner, and I was so excited.... Until they ended up kinda standing us up. They showed up at the restaurant an hour and a half late, then said they already ate. It was awkward, and then they were our neighbors and it stayed awkward. Fun times.

I'd actually be open to meeting certain bumpies, but I'll definitely take it a little slower next time.

One of my best friends is someone from my BMB. I've met another during a vacation, gone to a bigger GTG, and I have a coffee date with another tomorrow. I definitely don't want to meet some people, but I have great friends from meet-ups.

Before I was on the bump I used TN and was really active on my local board and we planned a meet up. About 30 girls showed up and had dinner at Cheescake Factory and that was pretty fun and I made some personal friendships from that with girls I still talk to. My local board on the bump is not active at all though but I wouldnt be opposed to another meet up if it ever came up.
