Another name advice post - narrowing down boys and girls names

Ok, so we finally started to narrow down names and thought I'd run some of this by my fellow bumpers. We're team green, so boys and girls names here:

Boys:
Zachary Connor
Sean Ryan
Connor Reed

Girls:
Caitlin Erin or Caitlin Rose
Skylar Erin
Erin Rose

Here is our challenge. Zachary and Caitlin are our top choices but after we kind of got there we realized oh my - my DH's brother-in-law's sister's kid's name is Caitlin and my brother-in-law's sister's kid's name is Zachary.  We have little interaction with those sister's, which is why we initially didn't even realize. Do we go elsewhere or go with what we love?

Any likes/dislikes on names above?

    I think it would depend on how often you see them and it doesnt sound like you do, if ever, so I think it would be okay.

    But also, I love Connor Reed and think Caitlin Rose sounds the best out of your two Caitlin choices.

    I wouldn't worry too much about the other kids. 

    Personally I like Zachary Ryan for a boy. 
    For a girl I just don't like Skylar, but the others are nice.

    They're all great! I'm not a huge fan of Skylar, though.

    I'd choose Zachary Connor or Caitlin Rose. :)

    Thanks all! This is helpful and I agree that ultimately we'll choose what we like. And our brother-in-laws can just live with the fact that they may have two nieces or two nephews with the same name.  :D

    I think Connor will be in there somewhere because DH eally likes that name but he actually may like it better as a middle name versus a first name.

    Zachary Connor or Caitlin Rose. I think we are both really sold on Caitlin, so that probably will stick, but DH really likes Erin and I like Reed as a middle name, so it may end up being Caitlin Erin and Connor Reed. I'm just glad to be narrowing it down.

    So your BIL's sisters - who you aren't really related to at all - used these names?  I want to make sure it isn't your actual SIL, just so I'm not confused!  I don't think that is a reason NOT to use a name :)

    From your list, in order, I like:
    Boys:

    LOL - yes was a bit confusing. Not related - my DH's BIL's (his sister's husband)'s sister used Caitlin and my BIL (my sister's husband)'s sister used Zachary.

    Before I read the "challenge" part of your post, my faves were instantly Zachary Connor and Caitlin Rose.  Go with what you love :)

    I think your top names are fine from a family point of view.  Our daughter has the same name as one of my cousins!   There's also a relation or something on my husband's side with that name.   <-what happens when you pick a classic name.  My cousin is grown up and we don't see her too often but do see her occasionally.   Everybody has been fine with it.   Also, we specified that she wasn't named after anybody for her first name!

    I love Connor and Caitlin, but I'm partial because I have a Caitlin Josephine!

    I like Connor Reed and Erin Rose. I'm not a big fan of Skylar personally, but ultimately it's what you want.  I wouldn't worry about what other people have named their kids, especially when you really don't have anything to do with them.
