Slight Bleeding...normal?

I was finally able to post today that we got a positive test and now I am having slight bleeding when I go to the bathroom. I had a miscarriage 2 months ago and I really do not want to go through that again. I'm not bleeding a lot and the color is a brownish-pink. I am hoping its my body releasing the old blood since I was supposed to have my period today. Is there anyone that had the same problem?

Re: Slight Bleeding...normal?

  • I'm sorry for your previous loss and I know how you feel since my most recent pregnancy also ended in M/C. I by no means am an expert but many people say spotting is common in pregnancy. Even cramping is normal as well. What I would honestly do if I were you is wait it out. Hopefully the spotting will stop and you will go on to have a completely normal pregnancy! Don't stress yet, because today, you are pregnant!

  • I am sorry for your loss as well. I do not wish a M/C on anyone. Though thank you for you comment, and you are right. Today I am pregnant but I do wish to stay that way. I do hope that what I am experiencing is normal and will go away.

I had the same happen to me & agree with @lalaroller08‌ . I ended up goung for beta testing to get an HCG count. They do a base test (sometimes compare #s to where you "should be"), and a few days later test again to see if #s have doubled.

But as previously mentioned, some women have spotting.

    Wishing you the best. #:-S

  • I'm sorry for your loss. Brown and pink spotting is normal. I had implantation bleeding for my first pregnancy and this one. I wouldn't worry unless you get bright red bleeding that can soak a pad. If it continues and you're worried, you can always call your OB for reassurance. I understand being nervous, but remember, today you are pregnant.

Brown blood is old blood so that can be normal.  If it turns red I would call and request a blood draw and then again 48 hours later to see what is going on with your hcg quant.  I'm sorry for your loss and that you're dealing with this.  PgAL brain sucks real hard.

I can relate to what you are going through. I am pregnant with my second child but I'm having spotting/bleeding that is bright red but not filling a pad. Dr did a hcg count and I go back Monday for another one. The wait sucks! Hopefully all is well!

Good luck! Maybe call your dr in a few days if anything changes. They might be able to do hcg level check. It might put your mind at ease.

  • Thank you everyone who is replying...I appreciate the good feedback. As of now I only spotted this morning and it was less then yesterday and only brown blood. So it looks like everything is fine with baby and me. Again thank you all

  • As PPs said, spotting is pretty common (though super scary!) and the fact that it's brown is a good sign.  I hope it stops completely soon!
