After reading the "mommy fail," post I was inspired to write about a related topic: battle scars. Have you made a mommy sacrifice lately to somehow help or benefit your LO (emotional/physical/action)?
Last week I was transferring LO to the crib after a MOTN feeding. I was getting up from the rocker and completely lost my balance. LO was unharmed and still sleeping soundly in my arms after I fell backwards into the chair. It sounds graceful, except for the fact that I landed on the wooden arm rest corner of the rocker part way down. This resulted in a deep purple bruise the size of a softball on my upper thigh. Sexy.
I caught my 3 year old a he was running and not looking where he was going so that he wouldn't bump over her bouncy seat that she was in. Somehow I hurt my wrist doing this and am now wearing a very annoying brace so it can heal.
DS has nails that are like claws!!! No matter how I clip and file, they still manager to scratch my chest up during breastfeeding! Thankfully most if the marks are low enough that no one sees them.

Broke my toe on the closet frame when putting DS's bath away because he was screaming in DH'S arms and I was trying to be quick to see what was wrong. Ugh it hurts. (
Giant bruise/welt on my thigh from walking squarely into the corner of a table at someone else's house while rushing to nurse LO before she went into nuclear melt down mode.
The only physical mark I can think of is my 6" scar from the c-section I had to get him into this world ;-)
I actually said out loud to DH last night "Mommy comes last" since he was giving me grief over not going to get ibuprofen as soon as I felt a headache coming on. (I do the same to him since he hopes it will go away and waits a while before taking anything!) I was too busy putting together the bouncy seat, making dinner and feeding LO!
I'm losing tons of hair because of all the clumps of it E pulls out daily. Even when I keep my hair up she still manages. I give up. As long as it makes her happy to pull on it I'll have weird bald spots lol.
My shins are permanently bruised from the car seat hitting against then while carrying her. Especially when she demands for the car seat to be swung anytime I stop walking.
45lbs, the stretch marks, cellulite that would give English cobble stone a run for its money, and a puckered up c/s scar that looks like it's making a sour face.
I was scratched to hell until I finally got up the nerve to cut T's nails two nights ago for the first time. He's almost 8 wks old. I was terrified to cut those little talons.
@rockstarlaw how long were they? I'm trying to picture this. I had to trim DD2s nails the afternoon she was born. Sometimes I have to trim them twice a week!
@RedDawnsRevenge - they were pretty long, but not terrible I guess. I don't have great nails. Maybe he unfortunately got my genes and his split or broke early on?
