Trouble TTC

Cramping on Estrace?

I'm 11DPO and on Estradiol (Estrace) 2x/day since just before O, but no progesterone.

Normally, I get twinges of cramps a couple days before AF, then crazy cramps once she comes. This time, I've been getting almost continuous, quite strong (uncomfortable - not terribly painful) menstrual-type cramps since around 8DPO.

Since I don't see my usual tinges of pink on the pantiliner by now, of course a tiny voice in the back of my mind is saying, "Look, things are different this cycle!!" But I am pretty sure this is just an affect of the Estradiol thickening my lining.

Has anyone else experiences changes like these when on Estradiol? Or perhaps during a Femara/Letrozole cycle? Thank you for helping me regain my sanity (since our chances with MFI and a silly ICI are freakin' slim).

Re: Cramping on Estrace?

  • I had a similar experience to @BlueJoan with some cramps added in. I noticed it mostly in the few hours after inserting the estrace (suppository Rx), but the effect seemed to be cumulative.

  • @bluejoan I did wonder about the ICI. I mean, it was 11 days ago so I thought that might be silly, but I did have light random cramping most days in between. So sorry about your "fire crotch"! I got itchy a couple times but it went away (sorry TMI) so who knows? Although, I also couldn't get myself to BD until 7DPO, thought it was just soreness from the ICI but maybe also the hormones?

@tweetyknicks Thanks for sharing, that helps, especially as it's been getting stronger as the days go by, so that makes sense!!

@iputketchuponketchup LOL Thanks!! It went away today but maybe that's because I was in the sun for 8 hours setting up a charity garage sale and didn't have time to notice it. :)
