  • How Far Along Are you: 32 weeks today!

Questions?: Those of you that are weight lifting still, have you found you've gotten more sore recently? What are you lifting at compared to pre-pregnancy?

Week's Successes/Challenges: Success- I AM BACK. I am in a walking cast so I am hobbling around (so much better than crutches), but I can do the stationary recumbent bicycle (boring, but I watch tv on my phone and read) and lift. My goal is 30 mins or more on the bike 5x per week and lifting a few times of those. I lifted arms this week and I'm so sore! Previous to my injury I had slacked at lifting but it feels great to be sore and feel like I have some strength. Challenge- Coming back into fitness this late in the game feels a little futile, and I am already getting antsy about being back to "normal." I think I just need to focus on what I CAN do as opposed to what I can't.

GTKY: Share your favorite online workout source (pre-pregnancy and/or during pregnancy). I used Runner's World for treadmill workouts and running. I also frequent a lot of random running blogs. For funtional cardio/lifting combo workouts I used PBFingers.com and carrotsncake.com. I am planning on using Jamie Eason's program after baby to work on strength while adding running back in after baby (https://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/jamie-eason-livefit-trainer.html).

Questions?: anyone else have intense contractions while doing cardio?

Week's Successes/Challenges: we were at the beach for a few days so my exercise was chasing a toddler! But I did make it to yoga today which was nice.

GTKY: Share your favorite online workout source (pre-pregnancy and/or during pregnancy). I need to look up the link, but its a free online boot camp. They send weekly emails with the workouts and you respond on the website with pictures for before and after. It was great! I also like the couch to 10k app on my phone to help me with running (I'm an awful runner)

  • @RunningJ‌ I've had to decrease my weight amount on things like row and lat pull and squats, but I haven't noticed any additional soreness.

I'm definitely meeting my goal of taking an exercise class everyday.  Mostly because I have GD and if I don't exercise my blood sugar numbers end up awful  :-S

Only two months to go though!

I haven't had any contractions, but I'm only 30 weeks.  I'd be interested to hear what others have to say.

Questions: now that I can't run anymore (BOOHOO!!!!) what's a good goal for staying active?  30 minutes 3-5 times per week?   Is speed walking doing anything at all??  I did walk/jog about 2 miles in 29 min yesterday- "jogging" (using that term very loosely!) for 15 of those min....
My goal has been to be active 5-6 days a week.  Some of those days are more heavy than others, but as long as I'm moving I know I'm doing something positive.  I've basically been walking or swimming for my cardio.  A few times I'll jump on the elliptical as well.  I definitely think walking is doing something, especially with the 25+ lbs I'm carrying.  I think of it like I'm doing farm carries, but without weight plates (just my belly weight).  If you feel like it's not giving you the burn you want, I recommend finding some steep hills (or even stairs) to incorporate.  Is there a stadium nearby?

I don't think I'm more sore than usual.  I read it's really important to just maintain instead of try to gain in strength at this point.  This is a critical growth period for the baby so you don't want to take anything away from their growth.  For upper body, I would say I'm lifting about the same.  For lower body, I'm lifting a bit less and trying to remind myself I'm carrying extra weight anyway.

Questions?: anyone else have intense contractions while doing cardio? Week's
No, I haven't had contractions, but I do notice if I push my cardio too hard I have a pain on the right side of my tummy (not RLP b/c its higher).  This blogger speaks about contractions during working out in her blog.

  • zoegirlTX I recommend the bike to replace running, I do interval "sprints" pedaling faster, which makes it feel like good cardio. Thinking I might do some speed walking as well in upcoming weeks.

@GinnyJ2012 I'm 34 weeks and no contractions - just lots of RLP :-S

How Far Along Are you: 34 weeks 3 days

    Questions?: nope

Week's Successes/Challenges: Well I did run/jog this week for 20 minute/2 miles, but I think this is it ladies. From now on I'll stick to bike and elliptical for cardio, since the RLP and pelvic pressure were just too intense and out of control today. I'm a little bummed because my goal was to run to 36 weeks, but heck I made it to 34, which ain't half bad...

GTKY: Share your favorite online workout source (pre-pregnancy and/or during pregnancy). I don't really use online sources. I'll read HuffPost Healthy Living for general fitness/well-being articles sometimes

  •  Questions?: anyone else have intense contractions while doing cardio?
I've had some BH lately when I've been on the bike, and I've noticed they get agitated by heat, and when I have a full bladder. I've read BH can be triggered by being more active than normal, and a full bladder.

  • Funny enough, the blogger I just mentioned above posted a pretty relevent post today about her fitness activity while she was pregnant and what she will do different the second time around: https://www.neverhomemaker.com/2014/06/running-what-ill-change.html.  It's a good read for any of us who are struggling with keeping a certain level of fitness while pregnant.

Questions?: Anyone use a cap while swimming? My cap doesn't keep my hair completely dry and I don't want the chlorine all up in it several times a week.  Any recommendations or advice?
Week's Successes/Challenges: I've gone down from 6 workouts a week to 5.  I'm getting bigger and it's harder to be active.  The days I don't work out though, I try to be busy (running errands, etc.) so at least I'm not sitting on my bum all day (I work from home).  I've had a few women tell me how great I seem to be doing this far along while I'm walking around the lake or swimming.  It feels good that other women are impressed that I'm still active 8 months pregnant, especially when I'm having those "I just want to work out like I use to" thoughts.
GTKY: Share your favorite online workout source (pre-pregnancy and/or during pregnancy). I really like https://www.bodyrock.tv/ and https://dailyhiit.com/ for HIIT workout ideas.  For running I usually follow a training plan from 'Run Fast, Run Less' (FIRST program) for a race I'm aiming to run.  Oh boy I can't wait to do be back there!  I also follow

Successes: 3 miles running under 11:30 miles consistently about 5 days a week
GTKY: I look up Jillian Michaels workouts and do them off youtube or some streaming site.
