I know that a lot of this will vary with age, but I'm curious about this.
The two centers we've used have basically just given us sheets with times of diaper changes (and if they were pee or BM diapers) along with times of bottles/meals along with quantities. (ETA naps - I forgot that one)
Once in a blue moon we get a little more written on there, something along the lines of - "had fun finger painting today" or something simple like that.
Is this pretty standard for center-based care?
What's your child-care situation (and ages of kiddos) and what kind of reports do you get at the end of the day?
Re: What kind of daily reports do you get from your DCPs?
DS is now 22 months and is at an in-home daycare that has multiple employees. they have about 20 kids. they give us a sheet that tells us if he finished his lunch/snack, his diaper changes (and if they were pee/poop), and when he napped. the sheet has sections for other info, like about what he did that day, if he needed behavior correction, etc., but they never fill the rest out. of course they're happy to elaborate on anything if we ask, but i'd imagine it's just too hectic to be able to give detailed reports on all the kids.
From 3 months - 24 months, we pretty much just got the standard info about diaper changes and naps. They would note anything unusual, like "Did not each much today", but that was about it. Once it awhile they would put something fun like "Enjoyed playing with blocks today!"
Once he started in the 2 year old room, they stopped documenting the day. They would if we asked, but they said that most parents don't care (and I agree). They tell us verbally if there was anything remarkable or out of the ordinary about the day. When potty training, there was a lot more communication. We also receive incident reports if there were any injuries.
MMC 3.30.16
We can also send messages back and forth if necessary and they send at least one picture a week, but usually more.

Beautiful baby girl born 11.24.14
DD is 10 months and in the infant room at a mid-sized center. She will be in the infant room until she is a confident walker. Her daily report includes what and at what times she ate and had bottles, when her diaper was changed and whether it was wet or poopy, when and for how long she napped. One of the teachers usually includes a comment on what she did. E.g.: "She enjoyed music time today."
DS will be 3 next week. He is in the 1st preschool room. When he first started in that room (2.5) we did not get a report. We requested a report because he is speech delayed and we had a hard time getting him to tell us about his day. His reports included what he ate, how long he napped, and a brief description of his activities. E.g.:"He played outside and went down the slide many times, he was a good teacher helper and cleaned up after snack time, he did such and such art project." He has made leaps and bounds in speech development in the last 2 months so his teacher no longer sends a report, but the teacher and DH discuss the day's activities at pick up and make DS participate in the conversation.

DS born 6/2013
Now that he's in a toddler room (15 mo. - 2.5 yrs) there's only the casual conversation or a scheduled conversation if there's a reason for that. They do keep a record of diaper changes/potty times but it's for them, not us.
