I root for the USA and Germany. I usually try to catch every game. I think Germany might be able to take it all. However if the Dutch played like they did against Spain who knows!! That was a crazy game! (This is the only time besides the Olympics that I get into soccer, I love it on the international level!)
I'm also rooting for the one American ref who is a former math teacher from NJ, not only did he call a great game the other day, but he's repping my state!
DH plays soccer, and absolutely loves the World Cup. In fact, one of his college teammates is there in Brazil right now for tomorrow's USA game. As for me, I watch it because he watches it. Go USA!
@ashes92813 Oh yes, the Spanish team alone could have a dedicated MCM! @kks4471 I'm jealous! Going to a World Cup is definitely on my life "bucket list".
USA is always my number one team, but I also support The Three Lions (England). My husband supports his birth country of South Korea and has his jersey all ready for their first game this week. I have very specific instructions not to go into labor during any interesting World Cup games...

Totally off subject, but my DH was born in South Korea too! He was adopted when he was 1 month old, so he doesn't have any Korean knowledge in him lol. Very cool!
Oranje! DH and I are both 2nd generation Dutch immigrants, and since Canada sucks at football, we never have a team. Everyone here cheers for whatever country their ancestors came from. DH is home today and we're watching while I time contractions.

We are rooting for Italy cause that's the last place we vacationed! We rooted for Spain last World Cup for same reason and they won!! And of course, we always root for US!
germany!! though my lahm jersey is a bit snug this year (fb rally pic included)...today's game ALMOST took my mind off of the go nowhere contractions i am having.
@beachbride5 that game was awesome! I root for Germany when they're not playing the US because I'm mostly of German descent, that hat trick was great!
I've watched every game! We are big soccer fans in my house, I'm rooting for my home country Colombia but I also like Holland and Germany. I follow Greece and Italy for some eye candy.
I am a big Spain fan. Have been since I got into soccer and laid eyes on Fernando Torres... He is my favorite! Not very happy with their start to the cup... don't know where their defense disappeared to. Then of course I also have to pull for USA. Hooray for finally beating Ghana!

My husband's family came here when he was in 8/9 years old so he speaks Korean, but on a basic level. Yay, for half Korean babies!!
Did you guys see Suarez was fined and suspended for biting during the Uruguay v. Italy game? He's crazy.
Eta: I'm mobile and the new app won't let me post then pic of the article. Fined $111,000 and suspended for the remainder of World Cup and 4 months from all other soccer events, even viewing games.
Honestly I feel that's too lenient, this is the third time he's pulled this
I wonder how much harder FIFA will be if (or when) he bites again too. Seriously though Suarez, biting? You're a grown ass man, not a 2 year old!

It is really weird because people say that off the pitch he is a pretty nice guy. It is like something comes totally unhinged when the adrenaline level goes up....

I think it has something to do with the fact that the fines were handed down by two different governing bodies (FIFA and someone else I think because the other offenses were with his club). But yea...you're 27, why the heck are you biting people?!
Also I'm kinda happy my baby decided to time her arrival between USA games, is that a FFFC? Maybe. But we're currently having snuggle time while watching the USA/Germany game
