Baby Spazz?

Last night I was sitting pretty still and I felt LO more in a way i never had before. It felt like she was spazzing out and i felt a series of 5-10 jabs (guessing kicks?) in very quick succession. My first thought was "ermergerd, she's having a siezure in my uterus!" but she was back to her normal movements the rest of the night and all today. Has anyone else experienced anything like this?

Sorry if this is a random or weird questions, It just threw me off since it was so very different!

  • YES and I thought the same exact thing! I got so scared! lol. Sometimes when she does that, it kind of feels like she's flipping around.

  • Maybe you ate something LO hated...or loved?? My LO gets very active in the evening now after dinner. It's like she is dancing around because she loved the food!

  • Totally normal. It happened with my son all the time! My H and I would stare at my stomach and wonder what he was doing in there! It was so crazy!

Mine does that several times a day. It's pretty funny. Nothing to worry about tho!

  • Oh good! I figured all was well with her because she's been back to normal since then. It just felt so crazy!

I did have a couple skittles... maybe she enjoyed that sugar rush!

  • Yea. Def has happened to me as well.

Also on a few occasions I have thought I am growing an octopus instead of a baby because I will feel him totally random places in quick succession.

  • Could it have been hiccups?
  • Could it have been hiccups?
Definitely wasn't hiccups. I've experienced that. This was seriously fast jabs.

  • Mine does that so much. I keep wondering how the heck she's moving that fast.

    Part ninja?? ;)

  • So glad you posted this. I was going to ask my OB if it was possible LO was having seizures in there. Now, I will save myself a little embarrassment...

I get that too.... I think it's a combo of rolling and kicking/punching at the same time. But I do remember thinking the same thing with both DS1 and this one too!

  • This LO does that all the time. It makes me laugh. DD did it in there too. Totally normal :)
  • Yes! I literally had the same thought. Glad it seems to be normal.

  • I actually asked about this at my last appointment! She did not reassure me that it was normal and freaked me out by saying she was going to call the perinatologist and ask. I don't remember this happening with my first, so I totally thought baby girl was having seizures in there.

  • Mine does this too, I'm used to it, she does it during late evenings or right before I'm going to bed most of the time.

  • @chardonnay24‌ what did they end up saying?

    Lilypie Pregnancy tickers
  • Oh, sorry! I haven't heard from her and my appointment was on Friday. She told me she'd call if they were concerned and since I haven't heard from her, I'm assuming they were not.

  • My LO is spazzing out right now! Pretty sure it's normal :)
  • Oh yes, fortunately and unfortunately, it's normal. It's sometimes uncomfortable, so i'll rub my belly and talk to her. Doesn't always help, but I try.
  • I've had this too! Mine almost looked like vibrations, totally freaked me out! Glad others seem to have something similar. I can only imagine what kind of moves our little ones are doing in there.

  • I've had this happen, too, and it's always movement that's bellow the belly button. It worried me at the time, but then I started wondering if I was mistaking gas or muscle twitches for her moving. With others feeling it as well, it sounds like it was probably her, though.

I wonder a lot what she's doing in there when I feel her. :)

  • This just started for me last night.  My little guy has had sort of predictible sort of not patterns, he kicks a bit around lunch time, and after dinner, and occasionally at night when I lay down to sleep.

Last night though, he was going nuts in there, I could feel flips and kicks and little punches, total party going on in there.

DH was snoring away next to me which is a shame because he has yet to feel the baby yet, every time I have him put his hand there the baby stops moving and doesnt start again for like 15 mins.

  • He doesn't do it a lot, but occasionally he will have a total Blues Brothers dancing moment. It's usually if I've been sitting hunched over the computer for a long time (i.e. - at work). I guess he gets tired of being in a ball and pushing subtly is not get the ute walls to move, so he thinks jackhammering them will. :)

  • Lol... I love everyone's comments.  My LO does this sometimes too.  Mostly in the morning or at night when I'm just being lazy in bed.

  • This also happened to me, it almost seemed like she was trying to get enough traction to roll over but was slipping around. It was pretty weird.

  • I am pretty sure this little minion has raves to dub step music only she can hear.. at least that is what I am assuming the quick freaky vibrations are. It freaked me out at first, but it doesn't last long and she goes back to normal movements shortly after usually.

  • Same here, my DH thinks my belly looks like a bowl of jiggly jello when he moves that that!
