Hello! I've been lurking for a little while and figured I would introduce myself. I've been trying to conceive for over a year now. I went off BC and never got a period. I (stupidly) listened to friends who told me that BC can take like a year to leave your body completely and regulate your cycle. Well, I finally went to the OB this winter who said it was NOT ok that I didn't have a cycle after so long. She tried a hormone to bring on my period, but all I got was one day of spotting.
Fast forward to the RE referral. Apparently, we are working on the hypothesis that I never ever ever had a normal cycle (since I was on BC for so long, we didn't realize it). I had blood work and an ultrasound. I have loads of healthy eggs, but they don't drop. Also, my uterine lining is pretty thin considering I don't ever menstruate. My bloodwork revealed that I have thyroid antibodies… I still don't really know what that means yet (have an appt next week). I'm doing my HSG this week and am super nervous. They told me to take 600 mg of Advil about 30 min before. Husband had SA and we are waiting on his results (even though we know I'm the problem since I don't menstruate).
In the interim, I've been taking prenatals, vitamin D3, and drinking pomegranate juice to build my lining. I am finishing a combination treatment of Premarin and Provera which gave me a shortish period last week. I think that's a good sign. I think my next step would be Clomid but I won't know until my next appointment.
Thanks for taking the time to read all this and for all of the advice/opinions/encouragement that I'm sure is to come.
Re: Newbie intro :)
Welcome. Sorry you're here, but it sounds like you have a plan to start off, which is good. Good luck with the HSG and your hubby's SA!

I'm glad you are working on getting testing done. I have my HSG this week too and what I've heard is it's not too bad. Try not to be nervous!
Also, I've had some of those thoughts about how we know it's "my" fault because I'm not ovulating but I'm trying to think of how my husband and I are a team. My DH tries to make me not feel that way and I know it's really not my fault. Sorry for the rambling, just trying to convey that it's really no one's fault and to not feel like it is.
