People always ask me how many months I am. I actually have to think before I answer. Recently I told someone 3.5 months....lmao. I lost track/pregnancy brain. Whatever. I am far past that but oh well. I know before I was pregnant, people would tell me how many weeks they were and I would have no understanding of what it meant. I just wanted to know how many months. Why do I have to do math? Hahaha! Now I do the same thing to others when people ask me and I answer in weeks. DH asked me how many months I was recently. I told him about 4.5. I had to explain that I am not even halfway yet. He understood that.

Yeah, I would automatically tell people I am 20 weeks and they would always roll up their eyes trying to do the math. So now I just tell people I am 5 months. Most don't keep track and always ask me again later anyway.
I usually go by weeks. I dont get the big deal with months though.....we got pregnant in February. March is month 1....So I figure June 17th I hit 4 months but Im 19 weeks tomorrow. Ill probably go by months soon as its getting farther along.
I go by months after people didnt know how many weeks pregnancy lasts. I said five the other day which is rounding up but whatever. They don't care about precision anyways
If the person asking has had kids in the past 3 years or so, I go with weeks. If they haven't (or I don't know), I use months. And at 20 weeks, you are 4.5 months pregnant!
It depends on who I am talking to. Some of the people who want to talk about the baby, like my Pawpaw, aren't used to "baby" language and therefore would just be confused by me saying 20 weeks! Lol
If the person asking me has ever been pregnant, I answer in weeks, because it's easier for ME to keep up with. (Or if it's a man asking me, and his wife has been pregnant in the past year or two I say weeks, and the men I've done that for have always understood.)
If the person asking has never been pregnant I say months, but only after I do the math.
Being 20 weeks right now is the easiest to explain: I say I'm "half way done" and that satisfies people. Otherwise I use weeks or say I'm due in November.
Re: Speaking in weeks or months - 20 weeks = 5 months?

Whichever you want to go by, the second one is the most widely accepted (I think)
