Repeated Movements

So this morning after trying to get comfortable after waking up, LO decides to create these rhythmic repeated "bumps". Are these hiccups or her fist pumping?

Re: Repeated Movements

  • Yep, hiccups! aren't they sweet? I had them all the time with DD 1 but this time around not so much.

  • This might be a dumb question, but do you only feel the hiccups in a small spot, or is it an overall belly feeling?  I get this rhythmic feeling, but it's only in one small spot, and I feel like it's a muscle spasm, but I suppose it might be hicccups.  It's only happened 3 or 4 times and always in the exact same spot (lower right groin area) which is why I think it's a muscle.

This exactly. But I guess hiccups it is :)
  • I feel them in a small spot. I like them cause it's the only way I can tell how he's laying. Like a pp mentioned you feel them where their head is. My LO is still flipping.
  • I know they are hiccups but I always like to think he is fist pumping!
  • I feel hiccups in one area and its very low and awkward feeling. With my first it was a whole belly movement for hiccups.

  • @laurelcharles, LOL at your baby's attitude!

I feel them mostly down low a few times a day. Which is reassuring since DD was breech up until 36-37 weeks so it's good to know DS is (currently) head down.

DD hardly ever got them in utero and still rarely gets hiccups. I'm wondering if DS will get them more as an outside baby as well?
