What are your bed times?

Hi everyone! Just wondering what time you put your LOs to bed?

Also, could you please give a small descriptor of where you live? Like, "New York City" or "Rural Idaho." I have a theory that East Coasters and city folk stay up later than Midwest/West Coasters and rural/suburban types. :) I read a book that says most babies go to bed way later than mine.  DD is 18 months and goes to sleep happily at 730pm and wakes up around 715 am. We are working on slowly changing DS's bedtime.  He is 4 months and has been going to bed around 630 but then waking several times a night and getting up at 430-530.

Thanks!

  • I'm in MN.

DS1 goes to bed between 7:30-8, sttn, and wakes anywhere from 7-8:30 for the day.

DS2 hangs out with us until 9:30-10:30, wakes around 4:30 to eat and is up again around 7. He's 6 weeks.

I'm in rural Ohio.  For us, newborns until @6-7 months old go to bed between 6-6:30pm and wake up @7am (we bedshare so its hazy to me when they wake up but its generally 1-2 times and fall right back to sleep).  Its not until @8-9 months that we can get them to stay up until 7pm and then its not until @12-14 months that we can do bedtime at 8pm.  The wake up times are always consistent.  My older 2 just turned 4&5 years old and they go to bed by 8:30pm and wake up @7 am.

**I'm back on this board because in a few weeks I will be 2U2 again but my first 2 kids were 2U2 (so I will end up being 4U5).
  • Oh yeah, I'm rural.

    I'm in NYC
My one year old goes to sleep at 9 PM everyday unless she didn't get a good nap in during the day, then I'll put her to bed at 8 PM. She wakes up between 8 - 9 AM and usually takes a 2 hour nap in the afternoon.

  • We are in rural NH, but we are transplants from the mountain west. Both our kids (22 month DD and 9 month DS) go to bed at 7:00. They wake between 6:00 and 7:00. DS has a morning nap at 9:00, and both nap from 1:00 to 3:00. :)
    Mommy to N (3), J (2), and C (10 months). LO4 is due in mid-September.
  • NY (outside of city, but not suburban). DS1 8pm wakes up by 7am, no naps. DS2 7:30-8 wakes up around 7am, naps 11-1 or 2 max.

  • City/Midwest. DS1 goes down at 630, but I'm trying to push it to 730 for summer. He's up for the day around 730am. Ds2 goes to bed right after I put DS1 down, but I still rock him (5months) so he's down between 7 and 8 pm.

Both our almost 3 yr old and 1 yr old go to bed about 8:30pm. Sometimes the 1 year old will be down by 8. They both sleep til at least 8:30am, with the 1 year old sometimes sleeping til 10 or later. I've got great sleepers!

They share a room and a half hour makes it so each child is settled and either asleep or nearly before her sister comes in. These bed times are very new for us since DH just got a new job (he worked for himself before) that helps us have a routine.
