*~Plus Size Check-In~*

Hello ladies! Sorry for the hiatus...I've actually forgotten the last few weeks!

So, how is everyone feeling? Anything new to share?

Also, just wondering for a future post: would you guys be comfortable posting a bare belly bump shot? I was looking the other day and actually got a little jealous of the smaller ladies posting them...I figured that if you ladies wanted to go for it, this might be a thread where you'd feel comfortable enough doing so.

Re: *~Plus Size Check-In~*

  • I missed this the past few weeks!! I almost started it a few times...

Doing good. Can't believe I'm 28 weeks. I feel huge. H has also told me I'm huge... And how our baby girl will out grow me since I'm only 5'. I wasn't happy, but surprisingly I didn't cry, until the next day.

Ugh I'll try a bare belly shot. I've gotten stretch marks already near my belly button. I knew there would be marks... But seriously, next to my belt button?!

  • I've missed this too! I almost started it but then just assumed I'd over looked us.

26w and change here, I am honestly growing tired of being pregnant and am ready to get to September already.

I ended up at the chiro's today after I hurt my back, evidently my spine and ribs were starting to slide out of place and my muscles are the area where starting to pull near the point of tearing trying to compensate.  The Doc said he thinks I'll be okay, and he doesn't think I'll need the physical therapy, but it worried I may need to be taped up regularly or wear a brace if my body keeps on insisting on shifting. I had never been to a chiro before so it was sort of a scary experience, but I honestly can't believe how much better I am feeling.

About the belly shots.. I finally did HDBD today, I am super self conscious... I don't know if I'd ever feel comfortable doing a bare belly shot, but more power to women who would!

@RedBaramid‌ I feel ya on being ready for Sept. Pregnancy hasn't been bad for me but I am ready for the end result.

I am 29 weeks today. Feeling pretty good, just tired.

So looks like I'm going for my 3rd 1 hour glucose test at around 32 weeks. I had one at 14 weeks and a second one a few weeks ago. They both came back normal (80 and 100) but my OB says I am at high risk for having GD since I am insulin resistant. I understand and am happy that he is so concerned and wants to make sure we catch it but another nasty drink, sitting there for an hour, and missing more work! On the positive side, I found a lab that had a leather recliner for the people doing the glucose test. At least I'll be comfortable again!

I don't think I'll be ok with the bare bump pic. I don't like my covered bump very much! Lol! Jealous of the women that can do it!

  • I'll be 30 weeks tomorrow! I had my 3 hour GD test Monday and I go see the doctor Friday. I'm at every 3 weeks now, when do we usually switch to every 2?

If at least one person does the bare belly shot, I'll give it a shot as well :)
  • 29 weeks tomorrow...and I've stopped stepping on the scale. I was getting so anxious about gaining weight, I thought I'd give myself a break. I'm eating healthy and everything, but just don't have the time or energy to exercise. I'm not the kind of person who can get up and leave what they're working on...I have to sit down and follow through to the end or else I get way too distracted. My doctors seem to have a hard time understanding this and it makes me wonder how they got through med school.
Feeling ok...just a lot of heartburn and I've been throwing up a lot due to that. It doesn't matter what I eat...especially after 3 or 4 pm; it just seems to sit there and irritate my stomach. Sleep has also been pretty crappy. I have a hard time getting comfortable and my ankle has been bothering me as well--it's really painful in certain positions. If that doesn't get better by the end of the week, I'm calling the podiatrist.
I'd be ok with bare belly...I just thought I'd run it by you ladies first. Everyday, I look less fat and more round and pregnant...so it's been boosting my self confidence a little bit and I was hoping the same for you guys as well. :-)

This! I feel more and more pregnant and less fat.

Although, I was out with my parents and saw a friend's mom. My parents mentioned I was pregnant and she was like oh! UM, did you not see this huge bump?! It made me feel like I maybe I still look fat. But I still have people being nice to me when I'm out... Opening doors, giving me shopping carts.

  • Hi ladies, glad to see a check in and see how you all are doing.

Im doing pretty good.  27 weeks tomorrow.  I feel much more bloated and stretched lately and have defiantly slowed down some.

Nothing new to report baby wise, My 28 week appointment is supposed to be next week but because of the holiday we will go at 29 weeks.  We also have a follow up fetal echocardiogram because while it looks perfect they missed views of a few things.  The same day we will have a growth ultrasound to see how the little guy is doing.  Hes been right at the 45-50th percentile in weight and bone measurement and thats where they want him to be for now (I have gestational diabetes)

It is so awesome and so reassuring to feel him more consistently throughout the day!

As for bare belly, I honestly dont think Id mind, but I feel like I look MUCH more pregnant while wearing clothes especially maternity pants.  I think I just look a little bit more fat and flabby while naked, but Id probably give it a shot if others are.

Hey ladies!  29 weeks for me tomorrow, although my siggy disagrees.  LO is finally starting to round out, although people still tell me I don't look pregnant.  I used to think that was a compliment, but at this point I'm taking offense to it since I've gained 9 inches around my waist.  Where do they think that's coming from?!?!  I'm sure they mean well though.

Excited for my 30 week appt next week, even though I have to get my Pertussis vaccine.  I think DH is more worried about getting his than I am about having to push a baby out of my lady parts.
    8-|

I'm with @mrsH1112, my bump looks much better clothed!

Edit:  To add that I had my first bout of heartburn Tuesday night and I thought I was going to die.  I admire you ladies who put up with it on a regular basis!
  • Hi, girls! I'm a day shy of 28 weeks, and still feeling pretty good so far. My only real complaint is heartburn. I brought it up at my appt on Tuesday, and was told to take Prilosec, so I'm trying that. I'm really hoping it does the trick. On a good note, I'm finally feeling and seeing baby kick above the belly button, and DH has felt some good jabs now. We also started our Lamaze classes, and I found the first one to be pretty enjoyable. There were 11 other couples in the class, and it was nice to be around other pregnant women. I can't believe it's already third tri, and she'll be here soon!

As for bare belly shots, I'm not against, but also not sure if I'll participate. I'll have to take some first and see if I'm comfortable sharing them.

I'll be 28 weeks tomorrow and definitely have a bump! It wasn't that long ago I was all worried about whether or not I'd show at all or just look fatter...but I think it's a pretty distinct baby bump...whew!

Nervous about my glucose test today, but other than that everything has been going great!
I'm still down 8lbs from pre-baby weight but he's growing as he should be so I'm okay with not gaining anything yet. Maybe I'll get lucky and continue to not gain through the final trimester. Fingers crossed!

I'd probably be okay with posting a bare belly shot on here...I'll let you know after I take it though. haha :-)

  • Doing well over here too :) 31 weeks tomorrow and at my last appt my stomach was measuring right on track. I was thinking that we would get another ultrasound to check how baby is actually growing but apparently not which kinda sucks. Havent seen the little guy since 22 weeks and would love to see him again (without paying out the wazoo for a private u/s).

Feeling well overall. Starting to get tired a lot faster than before and am having to take breaks inbetween doing things but I imagine that is normal starting around this time. Shaving is so not easy and I hate doing it so that's been fun. I started getting some heartburn but only if I lay down immediately after eating, as long as I don't do that I havent had any trouble.

The best news that I have received is that my best friend found out she is pregnant after having a miscarriage this past August. I am so excited for her and am praying everything turns out perfectly this time. If all goes well she will be coming out of her first trimester when our LO arrives. They would only be about 5 months apart!!

As for bare belly - I think I'd be in but I'm like @camichael84. Id probably take them and if I feel comfortable, post them :)

  • Feeling really well, although having a harder time sleeping (even worse than before!) I end up in our guest bedroom a lot. :(

Last Dr. appointment I was diagnosed with GD, but I've been hitting my numbers well (despite the fact that I can't get into a dietician until the END OF JULY).

I have my 30 week appt tomorrow, so I'm anxious to talk to the doctor and see what she has to say concerning my newest diagnosis.

  • 29 weeks and 1 day, feeling pretty good over all.  I have heartburn at night, but I've just been taking tums and that helps.  I'm feeling heavier in the stomach, making it hard to roll over at night.  And my feet are so swollen I want to cry some days, I've been icing them as often as I can.  But, other than that, good.

Probably would not do a bare bump pic, but I'm into pics of me in general.

  • Hey ladies! 27 weeks tomorrow and I can't believe how fast the time is going... I have a count down app and it notified me that in exactly 3 months LO is due to make his grand entrance it's super crazy, we are doing so much better complete 180 from the end of May/beginning if June. I hadn't realized how much weight I had list from gallstones and the super awesome low fat diet they have me on but I'm down 13 pounds I was concerned but my midwife wasn't concerned so that was comforting. Sleep is becoming my new best friend I'm asleep by 9:30 every night like clock work. Had my second hour long GD test and haven't heard back so no news is good news I have an appointment on 7/15 and then we are onto to every 2 weeks for appointments.

Hope you're all having a great week!
