When exactly do you need to have ready your diaper bag, after you come home from the hospital? And an pith the bath time are you planning on bathing baby on your kitchen sink or the bathroom? Thanks!
I love bags, so I already have a diaper bag. I think you can probably use any large bag, but I just found one I really liked. I have diapers and wipes in it already too. I'm thinking I will use the kitchen sink as long as I can for bath time. I don't have a baby tub yet.
My husband and I purchased a bath tub with a newborn sling that will fit in the bigger tub. It will keep LO out of the water and lay him back so we can have both hands free. Our sinks are too small to bathe baby. I thought it would be difficult to bathe LO in the sink until he can hold up his head. Honestly it's up to you, your personal preference! I've got diapers, wipes, lotion, changing pad, change of clothes for baby, hand sanitizer, diaper cream, nursing pads (breastfeeding), and my items from my purse lol.
I have a Vera Bradley convertible baby bag that I use now on a daily basis (going to work, out for the day with DS etc) and I'll just use that as a diaper bag. I don't plan to have it "stocked" with baby stuff until after baby is born, but I'll make a list of stuff to add to it to make sure I have the items on hand.
Our "kids" bathroom is large so we like to bathe baby in the baby tub on the counter at first. We just have the standard blue plastic tub, though I also have a sling/bouncer style tub someone gave me and I might try that in the big bathtub too for a change.
We bought a $6 bath sponge for baths until baby is old enough to sit up on her own. I'm having a hard time committing to a diaper bag, but an leaning towards a JJ Cole Modes one.
I won't bring our diaper bag to the hospital. They'll have everything we need minus a paci and swaddle that I'll stick in my bag.
We have the Fisher Price whale tub. Honestly, I have no idea what happened last time. DH has always been on bath duty so I think he just did sponge baths on a towel and then eventually moved to the bathtub at some point after the cord stump fell off. The stump completely grosses me out so my awesome husband deals with all that.
@dogperson11 I saw that sponge on target, are planning on using that on the sink?
We'll use it in the sink or on the counter next to the sink (sponge baths) until we're ready to move to the regular bath tub, then we'll probably use it in the regular bath tub until baby can sit well. I've got a bad back so I'm trying to avoid bending over a regular tub as long as possible.

We use the blue plastic baby tub on the counter at first too. It's nice to not have to bend over to wash them and ours came with a little sling thing that helps hold them during the floppy newborn stage. Once they start wiggling, the blue bath goes inside the tub. It's also nice to not have to fill up the big bathtub with water when they're pretty small. DD (2) still uses it for quick baths some nights.
We got our blue plastic bath after bathing DD in the sink on a towel a few times. DH accidentally let her head fall down about an inch onto the towel, but that was hard enough in the porcelain sink that she wailed and wailed. The next day we got our blue bath at Walmart.
Another tip -- we bought a small foam pad from the gardening section of our hardware store. It was designed for gardeners to kneel on while weeding but works perfectly to save your knees while giving a bath once baby is in the big tub.
I have 3 diaper bags (from E) but I'm not sure any of them will be big enough to hold diaper gear for two babies. I pretty much hate diaper bags.
I have a baby bath tub because none of our sinks are big enough to bathe a baby. Even out kitchen sink. I'm not overly fond of baths. Our bathroom is so small and it's really hard for me to get down and bathe DS right now. It really sucks.
I went for the Vera Bradley make a change bag. I was going to get the convertible one, but after looking at them in person I just liked the make a change better. I also got a matching purse and wallet. Since I am a FTM, I have no idea if I will love it or not, but this style bag was used by all of my friends with little ones.
As for a tub, I registered and received the fisher price my little lamb calming vibrations tub. I didn't care so much about the vibration, but I really wanted the newborn sling. The baby's bath would require using the tub and bending over - it is not fun when washing our dog, so I am thinking I would like to delay that with washing a baby. Our kitchen sink is on the deep side, so I plan on using the baby tub on the kitchen counter. Once she gets out of the newborn and into the splashing stage I will move the baby tub into the bath tub and deal with bending over. But I feel it will be much easier having a baby in the infant tub than in the huge tub.

Thanks ladies! I think will be using a tub with a newborn sling don't know what brand yet also since I have a laundry sink maybe if the tub is the same size we will be bath baby there since is just steps from his room. And for the diaper bag I have been reading some reviews from skip hop bags and to be honest they look nice but I'm afraid of the quality, I'll rather pay a little bit more for a brand I trust (coach
I LOVE my Storksak diaper bag. I got the Tania Bee. I started filling it and there is so much room and so many pockets. I am cloth diapering though and haven't explored how many cloth dipes can fit well in there yet. I think I am going to get the diaper dude bag for my husband... Bless his heart he thinks he will be okay toting a duffle bag around! And we got a tub with a baby sling to use in the bathtub. Our sink is too small to bathe in and the tub will be shared with my brother in law so I'd like to keep her up off the bottom of it.
I willbe reusing my ju ju be BFF as a diaper bag (though I kind of want the actual JJB backpack). For a bathtub, we got rid of our enormous plastic one a long time ago. My mom bought us a blooming bath when they were on babysteals the other day.
I have a Petunia Picklebottom that I spent way too much money on for my birthday last year. In hindsight, with these LOs being so close together, it was fate. It's so big, I can break my back with packing everything in it. So it will fit all that I need. For both LOs.
I have the Ju Ju be BFF and got hubs the diaper dude bag for Father's Day. He's been better about packing his than I have, which I find adorable. We both love our baby bags. As for the bath, we got a baby spa and shower tub at the baby shower. It seems overboard, but I think I'll like it. We'll probably just use it on the kitchen counter.
Learn from my mistake and pack the diaper bag ahead of time. :-). I delivered at 38 weeks. He ended up in the hospital the day after we got home and I was not prepared with my diaper bag. After a long rough delivery and no sleep things that would normally be obvious weren't so obvious
I had an Eddie Bauer bag which worked fine. I got a zippered utility tote from 31 this time around

I got a Skip Hop diaper bag and obviously haven't used it yet (FTM) but it seems to be pretty good quality and so far I really like it. Guess I'll find out soon!
Not that Coach doesn't make beautiful bags but the last 2 I have got have not held up well at all and they aren't exactly cheap. Really disappointed. I probably won't be buying myself an expensive purse anytime soon but when I do I think I'll definitely go with MK before I get another Coach bag.
Also, I figure a diaper bag is going to get heavy use and have normal wear and tear anyway. For $70 I don't mind if I have to replace it in a year or so
