Shameless, vaguely narcissistic AW post (Happy A/S news for this old broad)

I've been seeing the rash of anatomy scan posts and thought, "Screw it, I'll join the party!" Given my age (42) and all the other jazz that makes my pregnancy a bit more of an medical "adventure," I figure all news is good news. So, after a 2-hour long Level II anatomy scan with our high risk MFM (seriously--two hours; my back was killing me), little William checked out as completely healthy, and everything looked great. I still have the pictures of my older son's 20-week anatomy scan on my phone and it was fun to look at them side by side--they look a lot alike! I spoke with the MFM at length, and he said that, as there were no abnormalities in the scan, he didn't recommend an amnio (he spoke about risks to the baby versus any answers we might get at this stage of the game, and it didn't seem worth it to him; I was wavering--again, I am old--but finally realized that his opinion was probably the right one).

So, at this stage, I put my trust in The Big Guy that everything will be okay with my son and that I stay healthy and get to VBAC at 39-40 weeks. Hey, a girl can dream!

Here's a picture of the kid:
