FTM here and I am looking at things that I will need to purchase soon which mostly has to do with nursing. Pre-pregnancy I was a 38 C and actually I still am. I've not had to buy new bras at all. I'm looking at nursing bras now and I am unsure what size to buy. I've heard that about 3 days after pregnancy my boobs will get huge (my mom and aunt have both said that) so I am wondering if I should buy my current size or size up? Any suggestions would be appreciated! Thanks!

Ok now that I have figured out what I plan on doing for a bra, what are some suggestions for tops? I was looking at tops that you can move to the side but with the way nursing bras flip down it seems like there is a lot of fabric that could get in the way. Is it just easier to raise your shirt or do you recommend buying a couple of tops specific to nursing? Also V-neck vs. Cowlneck, any thoughts?
Sorry for all of the questions, I just don't want to waste money and as I've mentioned in my original post, I've never done this before. Thanks!
@jillhorner87, I'm also pretty small chested. Around the house, I wore a lot of nursing tanks and just shoved nursing pads into the shelf bra. I didn't worry about bras at all except for going out. I got a few Gap pregnancy support camis that I continued to wear while nursing and a few random other ones from Zulily/JCPenney/Old Navy. I've heard good things about the Target nursing tanks too.
@laurelcharles at least you've had to move the clip and straps...I've needed to do nothing!
Thanks @shevaCC I never thought of the tanks because I don't really like layering (esp in Summer months) but that sounds pretty simple.
I would recommend getting just a few flexible items now (a couple nursing tanks and LaMaze bras were all I started with last time), then getting measured a week or so after the birth.

@allygirl520 try barenecessities.com. I just ordered a 38H from there last night, and that is also where I got all of my nursing bras for my first DD.
Also - with the exception of the first couple of months (when I was home on leave and my milk supply was evening out) I wore underwire nursing bras to work every day for the 14 months I nursed DD. Never had a problem. Just wanted to say that underwire doesn't always cause problems. There is no way with my G/H size boobs I could go without the underwire in my professional work clothes.

Not true. It bothers me how much misinformation is out there sometimes, even by supposedly the "experts." I was fine and all of my friends were fine with underwire. I'm sure it's possible that it can affect some women, but the use of scare tactics is stupid. Try it out. If you are ok, then great, if it gives you a problem, then reevaluate.
One of my friends went to a breastfeeding class this week and that LC told her that the Affordable Care Act only provides USED breastpumps, and that she should buy her own because used ones are not safe. First of all it's not true (I know all insurance companies are different, but call and ask yours). And do you really think that insurance companies would be handing out unsafe, used (the LC said open systems) for women to use? I think now.
At my breastfeeding class last night, the LC didn't have a problem with underwires, she just said to make sure that they don't dig in under your arms. Evidently there are nursing bras specifically designed with a wider underwire to decrease the risk of blocking ducts, but obviously breasts vary, and some women can wear whatever they want and some will need to be more careful.
