If your LO runs hot, what does he/she sleep in?

DS still doesn't STTN unfortunately and sometimes I wonder if he has better nights when it's cooler out or we run the A/C more.  I put him in long sleeved/footie pjs at night but am wondering if I should let him sleep in a short sleeved onesie.  I am just always cold so I worry about him being cold, but he does seem to run hot.

Now that it is hot and gets to 80 in his room at night he is sleeping in pants or shorts with a short-sleeved shirt. We keep a fan running but once we turn off the AC it climbs to 80 pretty quickly. He seems comfortable with the way I've been dressing him.

ETA: no blankets for him. He has one stuffed animal on the crib, nothing else.
  • Loading the player...
  • Short sleeved onesie and a blanket over his legs. We keep the house at about 74 but we have a fan on in our room where he sleeps.
  • E sleeps in a short sleeved onsie with a A&A blanket over the lower half of her body.  We keep our AC on 78, so the ceiling fan in her room is on along with a fan in the hallway to pull in cooler air.  Her room tends to be warmer than the rest of the house.

When she wakes in the middle of the night and comes to our room, she just snuggles against me, no blankets.  We also have a ceiling fan on and occasionally another fan depending on how hot it is.

I'm cheap so we keep the AC higher, but DH works outside during the day, so we have lots of fans in our house!
  • M wears short sleeves and pants or shorts with no socks. We keep our house at 76 at night. He still sweats at night sometimes.

What temp is your house usually set to at night?  C sleeps in thin, cotton footie pj's but our house is usually around 70 degrees at night.

I love your new siggy pic, your LOs are absolutely adorable.
Thanks, I love catching cute pics of them together! :)
We usually keep it between 72 and 76 at night.

  • Even though we keep the house at 74, it's not insulated well, and her room is usually around 80-82, and she runs warm.  She sleeps in just a onsie.  I'll sometimes put a light short-sleeve sleeper on her if it's been cooler outside.

(then again, she's been teething for 3 weeks now with on-and-off low grade fevers, so she's running REALLY warm lately, and seems uncomfortable in too much clothing!)

We keep the house at about 72 as well, and LO sleeps in a short sleeve onesie and a lightweight A&A cotton sleepsack. I'd prefer to put him in a sleeper and ditch the sleepsack, but his chubby little legs are the perfect fit for getting stuck between the crib bars:(
  • We set our thermostat on 71 at night and W sleeps in cotton footless or footed pajamas and an aden&anais summer weight sleep sack. He sleeps through the night so I assume he's comfortable and when I go get him in the morning his temp seems perfect.

In the winter he sleeps in the same pajamas and a fleece sleep sack.
  • We keep the house at 68 at night. Since it is a little chilly, I normally put her in footed jammies and a lightweight sleep sack.

I just wanted to say that the pic in your siggy is ADORABLE!!  So precious.

eta: our house is at 70 at night and he sleeps in footie pjs
  • It depends.  We live on the second floor and heat rises in our place.  So, if it is really warm but not warm enough for the air, we do short sleeved pjs.  If it is supposed to cool down at night, we do long sleeved pjs. We rarely do Pjs with the feet anymore, but she does run pretty warm.
  • Quinn is super sweaty at night, air is set at 73 and she sleeps in a diaper. That's all we can do, other wise she gets a heat rash... We live in Los Angeles so it gets pretty hot.
