So my question for you is, what is an acceptable tip for the pizza delivery guy? My standard is about $3, but my sister informed me that I am a cheapskate. What do you think an acceptable pizza tip is?

Re: Just Ordered a Pizza
I was expecting a "what's for lunch" post.
It depends on how far out you are, I'd say 3 is pretty standard.
F15 December Siggy Challenge:
BFP #2 11/6/13 - EDD 7/14/14 - blighted ovum discovered @ 7w - natural m/c @ 10w3d
BFP #3 5/25/14 - EDD 2/1/15 - Hoping this is our 2nd little owl
A/S findings: Baby is a girl! EIF found on heart
but maternit21 came back neg for chromosome disorders!!
I usually give $3-5 if it's just pizza, more if it's a larger order or bad weather.

Waited a long time, tried a lot of stuff, science made me a mom.
Also, I'm now considering getting pizza from the cafeteria at work instead of salad bar...

Met with RE 4/11. 2 IUI's BFN. DE best option. Switched clinics to do "shared" program. Had to retake all tests and a mamm that put me behind and then on a DE waiting list for 12 months. Picked a donor!! (10/13/13) Got matched. Estimated transfer in December. After 2.5 years of patiently waiting I will finally cycle....can hardly believe it. DE cycle got cancelled. One of her tests came back positive. Waiting for another donor. Donor picked!! (1/18/14)
DE IVF #1 (4/26) BFN DE FET #1 (6/4) BFP! Beta 1=339 Beta 2=852 Beta 3=9957 EDD 2/22/15!!

A tip is how these people are paid. And, it's important to remember under most circumstances they are "late" because they were held up by the restaurant (food not ready, too many deliveries too far apart from each other etc) as I stated before, even if they were to get a pay check- by law it is only going to be 2-3 dollars an hour because that is the rate for tipped employees.
I can totally understand being extremely rude being an issue, but there are very few instances I can think of where it is ever acceptable not to tip.
And now pizza is on the menu for today's lunch. What kind of pizza did you order? Must we really avoid all cured meat...? I love pepperoni
As for bad service -- remember that the delivery folks are often just some teenage punks and they know where you live... I'd rather just tip them and have that peace of mind. The pizza joint is on my way home from work, so I've never had it delivered before.
