Chick Flick and Feel Good Movie Recommendations

So I've already decided after my ER, I'm doing absolutely nothing but be a blub on the couch without an ounce of guilt.

So, anyone have any good chick flick and feel good movies to recommend? I want upbeat, cute, and funny chick flicks and feel good movies without  anything that will make me an emotional wreck (like no Nicholas Spark type movies with a depressing ending or breakup movies like the Break Up or 500 days of summer, or a movie like The Switch).

It can be a little young and corny like an ABC Family, Disney Channel or Lifetime movie that is upbeat and cute. I'm a While You Were Sleeping, Footloose, 27 Dresses, What's Your Number, When In Rome, Leap Year, type of chick flick loving girl. I haven't gone to the movies in awhile so I may have missed a few good ones lately.

Major plus if it's a free movie (or tv series) on Netflix, Hoopla (the free streaming site from the library), Amazon Prime or even YouTube or another free streaming spot. Also, not opposed to a good tv series to get into on Netflix, but would have to be a comedy upbeat type show.

Any suggestions for me? And what's your favorite chick flick/feel good movie?

  • Have you seen This Means War? It's funny, cute, and has two very good looking men in it! I like Pitch Perfect as well. It will make you laugh. One for the Money is good, I think it's on Netflix and it's based on a book series.

Not a Chick Flick and I'm not sure if HULU, Netflix, Amazon has it but Warm Bodies. Great Zom Rom Com.

Does Mean Girls count as a chick flick? Because I just always laugh at it.. It always makes me feel happier! I also second bridesmaids!

Not what you requested, but if you're into sci-fi thrillers.. I just finished Orphan Black and got caught up with the current season (just ended). It's about clones who don't know they are sister-clones. They all find each other and figure out kind of corrupt things behind their creation/lives! t's really good! It's on Amazon Prime TV for free!
  • I second Mean Girls!  Also, I loved both of the Sex and the City movies ....neither were really good, plotwise but great escape to watch!

    July 2014 - Clomid 150mg CD3-7.  Ultrasound CD12 - 4 mature follies! HCG trigger shot CD12 AM.  IUI#3 on CD13 w/ Prometrium suppositories during TWW ....BFN
July 2014 - Repeat ultrasound done to measure size of fibroid - 8x9cm (the size of a grapefruit!) Surgery referral made.
August 2014 - MRI done which revealed 2 fibroids: a 13x15cm fibroid as well as an 8x7cm one.  Super freak out mode over surgery plan.  OB-GYN/surgeon said surgery would most likely have to be a laparotomy (open abdominal surgery)
August 2014 - After a 2nd opinion, plan to take Lupron x 2 months to shrink fibroids then laparoscopic/robotic myomectomy.  Surgery date is set for Nov 21st!
November 2014 - Robotic myomectomy done (2 large fibroids removed, mild endo found).  Benched x 3 months

    PAIF/SAIF welcome

I felt the same way. Then we watched it on our flight to Seattle. It was good. I liked it. All those imgur posts now make sense. But I still don't get the hype.

Although I think Frozen is The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, and Aladdin of this generation.
