I don't post too much lately but I was looking for some opinions.
Both of my kids have been at this daycare since they were 4 and 5 months.  Let me say that I have not had any issues with their care and my kids love it there.  I have recently found out that my DCP has had her license revoked in 2008 (she claims she did not know).  I was under the impression that she was licensed but I found out through the state that she is not.  She is saying that her license was revoked because she didn't have enough staff for the amount of children in her care.  Since then she has hired 2 staff members.  So my question is know this would you a) take your children out immediately b) keep them in her care until you can find something else or c) keep them in her care with the understanding that she is working to get her license back.

    I would see if there is a way to find out frm the state why the license was revoked. A couple things concern me.....mainly that she stated she didn't know her license was revoked. I'm assuming you have been paying a rate that is in line for licensed facilities. Non-licensed tend to be cheaper since they don't have to adhere to so many guidelines. Also, I was under the impression the state would visit licensed facilities every once in awhile. Didn't she think it was strange no one came in 5 years? I guess what I'm saying is I feel they were dishonest with you. Regardless of whether you've been happy, I personally would pull them. What else have they been dishonest about? You're kids are really too young to verbalize if there really were an issues so you need to go on their word. I could no longer trust them.

    @beaubecca actually I don't feel as though she is overcharging me but that thought did cross my mind (I currently pay $270 per week for both children).  You mentioned in your post about Maryland not sure if you can see my location but I am also in Maryland.  I found out that she is not licensed from the Maryland webiste after not seeing her listed I called.  . But trust me it is my #1 priority.  I was curious to see what others thought since my husband seems to think I am being irrational and somewhat blowing things out of proportion.

    @surprisedaddition When I called the the state licensing agency they told me it is not public records the reasons why she was revoked.  I can go off what DCP told me and I have know way of verifying if what she is saying is true.  I agree with you wholeheartedly about the deception.   Also when I talked to the agency they said a provider would know if their license was revoked but the DCP insisted it was re-instated.
