So, last night Natalie's eye started to get red and swollen. Her eyeball itself was not red, it just kind of looked like a shiner. No drainage either, so I was pretty sure it wasn't pink eye. Anyways, flash forward to this morning and her eye is swollen shut. I rushed her to the pedi and they said it is periorbital cellulitis. Apparently, this is caused by a virus and/or sinus infection. I honestly had no clue this could happen. She is getting three doses of antibiotic injections. If it gets worse we need to take her to ER to get IV antibiotics. Anyways, I thought I would share in the event you guys ever experience this. Quick treatment is a necessity in order to not cause any further complications.
