Energy.... **yawn**

Good afternoon ladies... I am currently 18+5 and I have absolutely no energy!  The past few weeks have been really bad.  I am getting about 7.5-8 hours of sleep at night, but not solid sleep I have not been sleeping well because I have been really trying not to sleep on my back (like normal) and on my side instead.  I keep waking up on my back and I think subconciously it is waking me up.  I have tried the pillows behind me and that does not seem to work I just take them off.  So frustrating....

Also, this is scaring me a bit too.. I have been pretty worried recently that something is wrong (I'm sure it is pgal and pgif brain), I have no basis for this cause when I listen to the doppler I am pretty sure I find her heart beat.  But I feel like I am regressing back to my first tri and that would mean something is terribly wrong.   I also think that she is still really low in my belly.  I have a bump but I am not sure what is up there cause when I (think) find her heartbeat is is really still by my pelvic bone... can this be right??? I hope you all tell me I am losing my mind and that everything is fine but for some reason I cannot seem to stop worrying about it.

Does anyone have any advice or issues with the same thing?

Sorry for the long whiney post!!

I totally had this....the feeling of regressing back into first trimester. I kept telling my husband "Where is this second trimester energy everyone said you get?" I never got it, and at times I felt worse that first tri. I'm not saying your cause is the same as mine, but mine ended up being gestational diabetes and once it was discovered and diagnosed I felt a billion times better. But I also know that according to my OB (who I saw for my symptoms quite a few times before the GD diagnosis) just reminded me that very few women have an easy second tri, despite what you are led to believe. So it might just be normal. If you're worried, talk to your OB about it and see what he/she says. I hope you feel more energy soon, or if there is a reason behind it, its minor and easy to treat. GL!

Thank you @liz4paws.  I am glad to hear that your OB told you that very few women have an easy second tri.  I just can't get passed how tired I am.  I have my a/s on Thursday so I am going to ask her about it also.  Thank you for the response!

I was wiped out all through my second trimester, too.  Is it possible you're iron deficient?  Once my OB diagnosed me with mild anemia and prescribed iron supplements, my energy level really improved.  Maybe something to ask about at your next appointment?
This! I had borderline dangerously low iron with DD and I was fatigued like you wouldn't believe. Iron supplements really helped, get it checked out. But in the meantime, eat some iron rich foods now, it won't hurt and can potentially be very helpful.

Thanks ladies!! I am starting to think maybe it is the iron deficiency. I checked my prenatal and it days it has 27 mg so I will make sure and mention that to my doc. It really scares me tho, I really hope this can be treated and that I am not doing harm to my sweet girl in the mean time.

@Ashris13 - just to allay your fears - I'm very iron deficient/anemic and my doc said that it wasn't a big problem for my girls (and in fact they are growing very well!) - he said the main problem was how it affects me - super tired etc. I've been on Iron for about a week and have already noticed an improvement in my sleep and energy levels.

I can't speak to fatigue because I feel okay most days, but as far as the babies feeling low I can totally relate. I feel them kick really low and sometimes feel a huge amount of pressure low but doc said that was normal. So I just trust that it is

Just chiming in for more reassurance to you - I never got the second tri energy boost, either. And my Munchkin has stayed low down so far, and I am (gasp!) 30 weeks tomorrow. My doc said her baby also stayed low the whole way through. :)

No second tri energy boost here, either. I'm more tired in fact, because the insomnia and hip pain has kicked in, so the sleep I'm getting is not as good as the first tri sleep. If you are iron deficient, it will only effect you. The baby will take what she needs, and you'll be the one with the shortage, not her. I hope we all find our energy soon!

Ditto on still being tired :) almost 26 weeks....I had about a 4 week "grace period" where I perked up, but now my hips/back hurt so that makes sleeping more difficult lol I feel my munchkin all over, but during the day it still feels like a foot is going to come out of my vagina!! Lol OB still goes for the HR with the Doppler way low.....hugs to you!

Me:Hypothyroid DH: Type II diabetic. Together since 03/2007, Married 10/2011, D/C bc 10/2011. TTC: 11/2011. Charted BBT and CV along with OPK 10/2011-02/2012 Baseline labs 02/2012 WNL, SA 03/2012: botched sample by lab - destroyed hubby's confidence. 04/2012 Clomid 05/2012 Clomid 06/2012 Clomid 07/2012 Clomid and Ovidrel 08/2012 Ovidrel (I never knew that I was supposed to be monitored while on meds...I never was. I asked for u/s and other tests to see why we weren't getting pregnant, doc just kept giving me meds and telling me to go to his church for a "laying of hands") Stopped all monitoring/testing/temps, etc, Sex became a chore and we started to grow apart. At 12 mos I decided to look for another doc. 02/2013 consult with new doc....3 days later testing began...u/s, all good, HSG: all good, labs: all good, ovulating, etc. Started on Pregnitude. 04/2013 failed attempt for SA, 05/2013 failed attempt SA. 12/2013 SA: 3% morph, abnormal functionality. DH started Pycnogenol. RE consult 01/15/2014.
