Hi! I was hoping I could maybe join you! I've been posting on TTGP and everyone is really great there, but I'm not really posting in W2O and 2WW threads since I'm not really having cycles so I thought I might fit in over here too.

I'm on my 11th month TTC but (you can see in sig) I haven't ovulated since December. I recently was able to get a cancellation appointment at an RE and went last week. Although I am sad that I had to go at all I was glad it was a couple months earlier since we can't even really TTC if I'm not ovulating. The doctors seem really nice and were very sensitive (while I started crying during the blood draw!). I have my HSG this week and I'm very nervous. How was it for you?

I'm a teacher, and my DH and I have two cats. I like to read, scrapbook, shop, and visit with friends. I wish none of us had to be here in TTTC, but I hope to be able to be a supportive member of this community. I look forward to getting to know you all!

edit: put the wrong name for the HSG test, oops!

Welcome to the board, sorry you have to be here, but this board is such a great place to come for support. My HSG was not painful at all, very minor cramping when the catheter went in. I could have gone back to work afterwards, but worked from home.

Good luck with the HSG and keep us posted!

    Me: 33, DH: 32

    TTC: 2 years
    Fertility blood tests all normal
    Tilted uterus
    3 day ultrasound 17 follicles
    HSG: 11/13/13- tubes open
DH SA: SUPER sperm (145 million, 84% motility, 22% morphology)
All infection disease and immunity blood tests NORMAL

FIRST IUI May 2014: 100 mg Clomid days 5-9, third ultrasound CD 13 revealed four follicles 27, 24 and 20 and 13mm. Trigger shot May 28 with IUI May 29 and 30 (fingers crossed) - BFN started spotting 11DPO :(

IUI #2 B2B 6/23 and 6/24, three mature eggs and 130 million sperm! FX this is the month!  BFN 7/8

3rd cycle benched due to cysts - TI with OPK tests -  BFN

3rd mediated cycle: Clomid+Trigger+TI  (three follies left side, one on right as usual....what the hell right ovary get it together and produce some damn follicles!) 7DPO progesterone level 43 with NO suppositories YAY for a natural strong ovulation. Beta canceled started spotting 13DPO - Third time is not a CHARM! 14 day cycle WTF! Everything looks normal - RE wants to start injectables next cycle so this cycle I'm benched

Officially benched until March....but still plan on trying the baking soda douche due to my excessive and thick CM

  • Welcome! My HSG was not bad at all...I took a few aleve before hand which probably helped a lot.
  • Welcome! You will read many different opinions and experiences on the HSG! Just go with a positive open mind and don't be nervous! I think that was my biggest problem...I was so nervous and scared...that I almost passed out from the anxiety! It definitely isn't comfortable....but you will be fine!!

  • Thank you for your replies!

@Tiko99‌ I will update after the appt Thursday!

@rella22‌ I'll try to be calm, I tend to get nervous at doctor appts. Once, I had to wait until my bp lowered before they would let me leave (I think I was there for strep!)

@rainbowbridge14‌ I just finished my grad work! Hope you are liking it so far!

@masterofallcheese‌ I'm glad I decided to see the RE too; back in March when I went to my OB for Provera she wanted to give me clomid too! I knew from lurking that was a bad idea. I waited a couple months after the Provera, hoping it would "reset" things but in May I figured I should make the RE appt. I hope to get a 2ww soon!

  • Welcome! Sorry you find yourself here though. :(

The HSG kind of sucked for a few minutes, but once the RE gave up trying to get a catheter in my crooked cervix and just shot the dye from the outside of it (which works fine - why all the trouble?), it was fascinating to see and just caused a few achy cramps.

I'm glad the office staff was nice when the blood draw made you cry! I find it distressing sometimes that I have to allow poking and prodding to my body to get pregnant (well...lol nevermind, haha!).

I hope they get you O'ing quickly and easily. :)

  • Welcome!! Just had my HSG this morning and while there was definitely a pain and discomfort element, it was very, very brief and I just have cramps now. GL and let us know how it goes :)
  • Welcome and good luck to you! I am sorry that you find yourself here, but I hope that your stay is short and sweet.

I had the same issues with being anovulatory, due to PCOS, and tried Provera for a long time, too.  While the HSG may not be particularly fun, it was the first step in finally getting on the right track with treatment.  I hope that it goes well for you, and that you can get started on a new plan to get things rolling!
