Very grunty! Except when she's sleeping. She manages to be pretty quiet then. But when she's awake she grunts a lot. She almost sounds uncomfortable sometimes. We just saw the pediatrician yesterday for her 1 month checkup and she was grunting for him and he said it was totally normal.
I literally just got off the phone w the dr about this... Brooke grunts squeaks and cries out in her sleep ( to the point where me and hubby are not sleeping the 7-8 hurs a night that she is) dr said its most likely gas related and I'm not burping her well enough after her motn feeding. It could also mean she's in a growth spurt and is looking to be soothed. During the day the cute grunts usually mean she's about to poop big time
DD is a grunter! Especially while she's sleeping. For this reason she's in her own room at night, otherwise I'd never get any sleep. She's not in any distress or discomfort, just noisy. I also attribute it to the fact that we swaddle her, but by morning she usually has her arms and one foot out. So she must make some noise while she's playing Houdini to escape.

We get grunts when she's pushing out a poo. Sometimes her little face even turns red. It's actually hysterical. Then every time she wakes up from a nap she makes an elephant noise.
@danagmauro my LO does that too but typically he's asleep for most of it. I ended up putting in earplugs to muffle the sound a little but I also make sure to give him gas drops before bed and that actually helps reduce it a bit.
She's asleep for it also! Which makes it so bizarre! I'm trying the gas drops tonight!
Out LO is a sleep grunter too! It's usually because of gas and doesn't seem to bother her at all! She's pretty noisy on general but you can definitely tell when it's gas grunts vs normal baby grunts.

Sounds sort of like my Dd. She grunts when she wakes up only in the middle of the night or in the mornings. She usually farts and let's out an explosion really early
