Are any of you ladies attending a local breast feeding support class? If so, what's it like and how do you like it? I'm a FTM and looking to meet other moms in the area but I'm totally nervous to attend the local group for the first time, I'm not having any issues breastfeeding and I know I shouldn't be nervous to attend and I'll get over it but I wanted to hear your opinions if you attend one or something like it! I think hearing other ladies experiences will make me less nervous to attend!
Thanks in advance!!
Re: Local breastfeeding support group
Our group is very unstructured. The LC is there and you can weigh baby, ask LC or other moms any questions, etc. it's very laid back which I like!

It was such a help when we started out. I'm not sure I would have been able to stick with BF without it.
That said, now that BF is established I still like to go for the social aspect. It's nice just to get out of the house and interact with adults. And being a FTM it's amazing what you learn just by interacting with other mommies. It's like posting a thread on TB, but with immediate feedback and that dynamic interaction you could only get in person.
So, to answer your question, yes I totally think it's worth seeking out a group in your area. Chances are you won't have the oldest baby and will glean some valuable info regardless of how confident you feel in your BF/parenting abilities.
