How often do you have spotting?

Hi all

This is my first PP cycle and I've been having a lot of minor spotting. I've never had spotting before, and I know that things can be wonky for the first few PP cycles.

Just curious - how often do you get spotting? Is it really common?

Common for me as well, but never midcycle. I usually spot for 2 days before and 2 days after AF.

I usually spot for around 20 days out of a cycle.

ETA That should read spot or bleed 20 days out of my cycle - including the days of my period.

With my first post MC AF, I spotted 1 day before. I'm barely on the second cycle so we'll see what this one will be like.

This was my first completely BC-free cycle and I spotted for 3 days before a full period. When I was on bc, I noticed that I would occasionally have some spotting after sex.

This is me as well. I always spot before AF shows up. Last cycle I spotted for 3-4 days, had nothing for a day, and then full on AF. Cycles can be weird.

I only spot right before AF. But PP periods were different, and I spotted randomly during the first couple.

I've only had mid-cycle spotting once, and it was the smallest amount imaginable. I do however usually spot after AF for at least a day.

I'm on my 3rd pp cycle, check out my midcycle potting last cycle... very weird, until I look back at my cycle history and notice that I in fact have spotted on/right at ovulation before...

This was the first month that I didn't have spotting after having my twins almost 7 years ago! I had a hysteroscopy to remove some scar tissue so I'm sure that has something to do it. But I would spot for about 15-20 days of my cycle, was told it was because the lining couldn't properly attach to the scar tissue.

I don't really spot at all. I'll "spot" for like an hour or two before I get my period. But I don't really consider it spotting... I just think of it as the beginning of my period.

I always getting spotting 1-2 days before my period. So it's common for me.

I have brown spotting a lot. Sometimes mid cycle a few days after ovulation, and I almost always spot for about 3 days before AF and 3 days after.

I have midcycle spotting every now and again.

I've self diagnosed it as "left ovary" spotting, so when that ovary is releasing an egg, I'll spot. I kind of made that up myself since I once had drop-to-the-knees, almost pass out pain on my left side one time midcyle, and my spotting started shortly thereafter. Not that it's accurate, or matters. Just something I tell myself.

Before coming here, I didn't realize spotting was so common. The first time I ever had spotting was after getting my mirena out. I don't know if the fact that I was on BCPs forever had anything to do with not spotting, but I guess I'll see if spotting is my new normal over the next few cycles.
