Giving powdered probiotics

Last question about probiotics. My local store only sold infant probiotics in powder form. My babies are EBF and rarely take a bottle. Can I just sprinkle the powder on my nipple? They're supposed to get a quarter teaspoon which isn't much so I wasn't sure if that would work or if I would have to give a small bottle of pumped BM. Thanks!

Re: Giving powdered probiotics

  • You could mix it with a little bit of pumped milk or formula and put it in a dropper.

  • you can sprinkle on your nipple. but you can also dip your finger in water or expressed BM, and swab your finger on the inside of your LO's cheek.
  • Thanks all. Great suggestions, we will see what works best.
  • I use water to wet my finger and dip it in the powder, then let LO suck on my finger.
