First Appt Ambiguity

So I had my first appointment today. I was estimating I was around 7w3d, though I couldn't remember my dates. The nurse practitioner did an internal u/s and said I was around 6w2d. So NBD since I didn't know my dates, but she did say the heart beat was a little slow (though she didn't measure it). I'm getting another u/s next week at the actual radiology dept that does the official u/s, but I'm definitely a little nervous based on what she said since my last loss was around 7 weeks and I saw the heart beat around 6 weeks. She seemed pretty unskilled at getting a clear picture and I remember really not liking her demeanor when I was pregnant with DS and felt that way again - before she even measured she said oh, the heart seems slow! I would think a normal professional would say it a bit differently. The good news is I did see my little bean! Now the waiting game begins until my u/s next Tuesday. UGH. Would appreciate some T&P's that all is well. So far no spotting or cramping so I'm hopeful.

    She didn't measure it, and yet told you it was slow? I would take that with a grain of salt until you see a radiologist, as long as nothing else is wrong. I'm sorry, that must be a total mind f***.

    I'm sure your next US will be a good one! If you are only 6weeks+2, maybe the heart just started beating and will be loud and strong next check! Hoping for the best for you

    @wintersong139 Yeah, my thoughts exactly. I'm trying to rationalize that she was just judging by the terrible image she got on the monitor and to just breathe for the next week. I wish she would have just kept that comment to herself because I was so happy to see the little bean! I would have loved happy thoughts for the next week.

    I'm praying for a great next us. I'm sure it'll be fine! If she didnt actually measure the heart rate then how did she know?

    Good vibes sent your way! I agree with @wintersong139‌ I would take what she said with a grain of salt until you actually get someone who will measure it for you to be sure. The good thing is, there is a heartbeat so keep your spirits up and I'm sure everything will be ok :-)

    Thinking positive thoughts for you.

    ME:46 MH:44 DE IVF 2014
    Met with RE 4/11. 2 IUI's BFN. DE best option. Switched clinics to do "shared" program. Had to retake all tests and a mamm that put me behind and then on a DE waiting list for 12 months. Picked a donor!! (10/13/13) Got matched. Estimated transfer in December. After 2.5 years of patiently waiting I will finally cycle....can hardly believe it. DE cycle got cancelled. One of her tests came back positive.  Waiting for another donor. Donor picked!! (1/18/14)

    DE IVF #1 (4/26) BFN  DE FET #1 (6/4) BFP! Beta 1=339 Beta 2=852 Beta 3=9957 EDD 2/22/15!!

    FX for you! I hope the next ultrasound goes much better.  She shouldn't have commented that the heartbeat was slow without at least telling you a number. 
    Miscarriage in January 2012 at 8 weeks
    Subsequently diagnosed with low P4, LOR. MH DX low motility, varicocele 
    BFP in July 2012 (Gonal-f + trigger + IUI#2 (B2B) + prometrium)
    Lost Baby A prior to 7 weeks; large SCH; Baby B (Bug) was born in March 2013

    I'm so sorry for your loss. I hate when they are rude, they were rude to me when I found out my last baby didn't have a heartbeat.  yay for listening to hb, thoughts and prayers for baby at next u/s. Hugs! stay positive! :)

    FX for you! I'd probably mention her poor bed side manner to the OB at my next visit if it were me. Someone should tell her to keep her mouth shut unless she knows for sure what she's talking about, these are fragile times yo!

    I agree with @PippyLongstocking1‌, you should talk to your OB next time you go in. The NP shouldn't have said anything about the heart rate if she didn't even measure it. FX for your next u/s.

    I have already gone through 2 obgyn since my last pregnancy just for that reason. I really want to love my doctor this time. I guess I will find out Wednesday. Hope things get better

    Thanks everyone! The good news is I like all of the obgyn's in the rotation, so I now know just to ask for anyone but her! I'll update you next week!
