Pants Strike!

Ugh. I can't do them anymore. It's just not happening. And I'm amazed those thoughts are coming from a person who wears blue jeans 99.9% of the year. The belly is too big, my ass is too wide, and I straight up refuse to go out and buy XXL maternity pants (I was a size 14 pre-pregnancy - I definitely got them birthin hips from my momma). Shirts are getting too short or too tight now too. Blah. And 9 more weeks to grow? I swear I'm going to be wearing a perma mumu by the end of this.

Old Navy Maxi skirts are my new found love <3 What's your non-pants staple?

Re: Pants Strike!

  • I wish I could strike on pants, but I have the dreaded thigh sticking issue and I get really bad rashes on my thighs if I wear too many skirts/dresses.  I have tried baby powder, deodorant and I even bought some bodyglide and nothing works.  I did buy some maternity spanx, and they keep my thighs from rubbing together, but it's just like wearing tight pants under my skirt.

I may, however, boycott jeans pretty soon.  None of my jeans fit anymore, I think my thighs and butt are getting bigger.  I am really enjoying my yoga pants and my workout pants, along with DH's basketball shorts, so I may just live in those when not at work.

  • I have three work dresses picked out that I plan on wearing 3 out of the 5 days to work for the next freaking 8 weeks.  Whatever, I can only deal with pants for about two days a week tops!

  • Dresses and cardigans for work. I can't even use the b band with my pants anymore. I have 6 clevage appropriate dresses that I rotate. I'm sick of them but oh well. I don't want to waste any more money on maternity clothing. At home my boobs just fly out of my other dresses but idgaf.

I am wearing an Old Navy Maxi skirt right now and have a few Old Navy maxi dresses. I also like the Liz Lange dresses from Target. I only have one pair of pants that fit me, yoga pants, and just refuse to attempt to try on or buy anymore. Not happening!

  • Dresses and maxi skirts! I got 4 really cute dresses at a consignment store, and have a few more, so I probably own more dresses now than I have any other time in my life. I plan to wear them nonstop as long as possible. Plus, it does wonders for my self-esteem!

My new mantra: If you feel like a house, put on a dress. You may still feel like a house, but at least you'll be a cute one!

  • I've retired my pants for the most part. I wear them very occasionally only if I my maxi dresses and skirts are dirty. I have 4 maxi dresses and 2 skirts that I rotate. I have a shorter skirt and dress but hate how bad my feet swell so I don't wear them often. I did buy a couple of pairs or non-maternity linen-style shorts from ON that were surprisingly comfy.

  • A few mom friends recommended wearing men's boxer briefs under skirts to prevent the thigh rubbing issue. I've been trying it recently and it's AMAZING!! Cotton so they breathe, they don't ride up, and the band sits below my belly!
  • I'm wearing an Old Navy skirt right now. I have a black, grey, and chevron type print one. I wear them every single week and just rewash them. I have to try and switch it up and wear something else in between those three days to avoid rashes. I did buy a pair of cute white capris from Target about a week ago. I will wear them for the casual part of our maternity picture shoot.

I definitely wear the same stuff every week, just mixed up, but at this point I could care less. I have gained so much in my thighs, but even when I'm not pregnant that is where I always put on my weight. I was having to buy bigger pants at like 10 weeks.

  • I found the best pair of maternity shorts at target... I wear them every other day, and other than that I only wear cotton dresses. Thankfully I don't have to work right now!

I don't remember the last time I wore pants.

I'm 90% in maxi dresses with cardigans added for work. I have one or two maxi skirts.

  • Mostly dresses of all lengths and leggings when leg coverage is required -- the bump is making my knee-length dresses wildly inappropriate! I'll still wear jeans/pants occasionally if I want to wear a cute top or something, but then as soon as I know I'm home for the night, they come off and I walk around in me skivvies till its time for bed.

  • I wore maternity jeans all day at a class today and the first thing I did when I walked in the door is peel them off. Now I am sitting here pants-less. It's the only way to be!

This, I am there with you.  I'm to big and it's to hot here for me to wear pants that often!  It does present the challenge of keeping my legs shaved though....

  • I officially gave up on pants last week when I wore the most stretchy pair of pants I own to the dr office. The ultrasound tech tried to pull them down a little bit because the baby was sitting low and ended up sliding me down the table because my pants are to tight. It was slightly embarrassing! I have turned to wearing DH's pj pants while at home, and dresses if we go out somewhere.
  • I hate all clothes. I realized this afternoon while packing for vacation that I can wear exactly 6" nice " t shirts (the actual maternity ones.. Anything else is just baggy tees I wear to work out or at home), one pair of shirts and 3 pairs of jeans. That's literally all I can wear out. (I wear my maternity ACUs to work). I feel like a frump because I wear the same clothes over and over and over again. I can't wait to be not pregnant and wear real clothes again.
  • I have a few pairs I can still wear but only when avoiding doing laundry. Otherwise it's dresses and tights or leggings all the way.

I'm, unfortunately, in this boat too. It sucks! You would think a dress or skirt would be more comfortable when it's hot out but nope. It makes me feel so gross! I can only do skirts/dresses when it's not hot and humid, there is minimal walking involved and I'm not sweating like a pig. So, pretty much never ;)

Thanks for the tip...going to check it out!

This...so much! I don't want to spend anymore $ on maternity clothes but I so badly want to go shopping :( I feel like I look like a bum all the time. I have 2 or 3 pairs of capris, a few pairs of shorts and some dresses/ skirts which I don't like wearing. Then just some basic tops. I see all my cute clothes hanging in the closest and it makes me sooo sad, I want my wardrobe back!

I buy the Jockey ones that they just started selling at Target (I think it's their JKY brand?), and wear those under skirts and maxi dresses.  I also have one pair of maternity shorts from Target that I love and pair with Kirkland stretchy tanktops.  I refuse to buy any more maternity clothes, so those better get me through the next 6 weeks!

  • I'm down to black yoga pants, a solid v-neck top, and tennis shoes. I wear a pony tail, some make-up, and diamond stud earrings. I call it my, "I totes just came from the gym" look, even though I'm not fooling anyone.

  • Old navy maxi skirts FTW! I live in my maxi skirts and athletic shorts. But I also work from home so it doesn't matter what I wear.
  • Lol what are pants?
