potty training 2 y.o. while nauseous, wtf was I thinking

This is miserable.  I am trying to potty train my 2 y.o daughter Eva and I am so sick to my stomach.  We've made it once on the toilet and once on the couch (just an hr in and i needed a break, totally my fault!!)  ugh need to keep going.  she loves her fancy big girl undies!!

  • Definitely keep going! My 21-month old is not ready to potty train.  I would love to have her out of diapers before LO #2 makes his/her arrival into the world!

We are potty training too. We had our first poop success yesterday but pee success eludes us. I swear it's like 15 minutes after I put her on is when she decides to go. I'm hoping to have this down by mid July when we go on vacation. Good luck!

  • I swore I wouldn't be one of those moms with the little potty in the living room - it really helped. He could get to the little one in time, the one down the hall not so much. Good Luck :-)
~I give up. No siggie for me~
  • We tried it last week (DS is 25 months). It was a total failure so we are going to wait another few months. I just don't want to be potty training with a newborn!
  • Eva has been asking me to for months and I couldn't with the end of the school year.  I needed more time to focus on her.  I am afraid we missed a window of her really wanting to and it's going to take forever now
  • Keep on it, but I also suggest to wait until they're ready. Sounds like most of them are.

With Olivia she was exactly 2.5, she decided she was ready that weekend, we put her in undies and never looked back. It all clicked with her and she had learned to listen to her body and when she needed to go. We never had any accidents after that. We had tried off and on for months before, but like I said, it just had to click with her.
  • yeah Eva was very ready a lil while ago but has been less interested, in part because she has such horrible allergies right now
  • I potty trained my 3 year old boy a few months ago.  I just started potty-training my 21-month old girl, and I think she's doing better than he did when he first started.  She's had some big accidents, but none today and only 1 yesterday.  Good luck!  The first few days are the worst.

  • I am right there with you. But also in the angry hormone stage. We did pretty well yesterday but today is just a ton of accidents. It gets better right?
At least it will be done before we are huge and can't wipe the floor easiely?

  • :)  Thanks all for the encouragement but we had to stop for now...Eva's allergies were so bad that we ended up back at pediatrician then had to go to eye docs cuz her eyes were so swollen and draining.  we will have to try again when SHE is feeling better!!
