nwmr looking for great outdoor sprinkler type water toys

I hated having a kiddie pool & dealing w/ filling it up w/ ice cold water, storing it, etc- we have a neighborhood pool so I'm not looking for something to substitute for swimming but just something fun/easy/small (so no inflatable waterslides as cool as those things are).... any highly recommended sprinkler toys?
Kids are almost 5.

    Honestly, my 5yr old still plays with his water table. I bought a bunch of foam water cannons and he and the neighbor kids spray each other with those (or water my garden with them... free labor!)

    DS just received this as a birthday gift. Haven't tried it yet, but I think it fits your description.
