The only thing I want sunny-side up is eggs: birth story

I lurk more than post but wanted to share my little girl's birth story.

I was supposed to be at the hospital at 6:00 am on Thursday for a scheduled induction. Apparently they tried calling me (I had a missed call but no new voicemails) but I never heard it. They were going to cancel the induction because it was super busy in L&D. However....baby gave me some of the weirdest contractions (they felt like period cramps) ever starting at 5:30 am. I asked if they would just hook me up and check on the contractions. Nurse didn't want to but DH convinced her.

Sure enough....I went into labor on my own 30 minutes before the scheduled induction. They still gave me pitocin, though, because that was doc's orders. Bad, bad call. Contractions came so fast and hard I got zero breaks in between. 2 cm at 6:30, 5 cm at 8:00. By this point my body was shaking furiously....such an odd feeling. I started pushing at 8:20, baby born at 8:45. Doctor happened to be in hospital doing rounds, thank goodness, because she would have never made it there. I just remember them yelling "code zero!" which apparently means for anyone to get their butt in there. I couldn't get any pain meds because it went way too fast. My LO was a bugger. She came out sunnyside up and let me tell you.....that is no f'n joke....especially without meds. Doc later told me that most sunnyside ups end up in an emergency c-section, so I guess I should feel lucky to have made it through, as hard as it was.
Other than a little bruising on her face from being faced the wrong way we are doing all good. Who would've thought that we left the house at 5:45 am with no expectations for the day...and DH was home by noon to put DD1 down for her nap!

BFP #3 - August 2013....m/c at 5 weeks 
BFP #4 - October 2013....little lady #2 born June 2014

     Me (36) + DH(35) = Married 9yrs!
    BFP #1 May 2010! mc @11weeks blighted ovum, natural mc.
    BFP #2 Sept 2010! mc @9 weeks, natural mc. Diagnosed with Prothrombin Gene Mutation or Factor II (hetro)-baby asprin while ttc, Found out the hard way that I am deathly allergic to aspirin- OB put me on Heparin injections.
    BFP #3 July 2011 with DS (whom was diagnosed with bilateral trans-radial limb deficiency at 20 week A/S-with no answers why) born 4-12-12.
    BFP #4 March 2013! Early mc @6weeks.

    Congrats lady!  Amazing that you delivered her so quickly!  Those sunny side up babies really are no joke.  My first DS was sunny side up too and I ended up with a c-section after 5 hours of pushing.  Hope you have a quick and easy recovery!

    Congrats! Both my babies were sunny side up the first we pushed for 2.5 hours till the nurse turned her. With ds they didn't realize he was sunny side up til my second push and he flew out on my fourth.

    Congrats!! This makes me nervous for my baby girls birth...she's been sunny side up for weeks! FX she flips during labour!

    Congratulations! My son was also sunny side up, and I had the best epidural and it was STILL really hard, so a huge kudos to you for doing it med-free!
