My feet look like sausages

We had our shower today and it was so beautiful and fun. However after a day of walking around standing and moving stuff my feet are so swollen. Ive been trying to keep them up as much as possible but woah are they puffy! Any suggestions to deflate these bad boys?

Re: My feet look like sausages

  • Elevation, more water. Eating watermelon helped me last time. Haven't had to use it yet, but know it's coming. Also soaking in cold water helps. I floated in a swimming pool and it relieved swelling in hands and feet.

  • I also had my shower today and am putting up my swollen feet now, but the real problem I'm having is dealing with the pain from my first hemorrhoid which I grit my teeth thru all day on my feet

My feet are huge and my entire body aches! We threw a baby shower BBQ for some friends today and it was so much fun but a lot of work. I way overdid it today. I feel your pain! I'm hoping some rest will help more than anything.

  • We had our shower yesterday and my feet are so swollen, they're a little bit painful. Too much going on, and I over-did it. Elevating is what usually helps me the most. I feel your pain- I've been dealing with this swelling since the beginning if April.

  • I've heard to elevate feet a good amount (feet above ur hips) so the extra fluid can drain, but to also keep drinking plenty of water, good luck!

  • Mine have been like that since about 21 weeks. My mom freaks every time she sees them. I usually try to elevate above my hips, drink water and through in a popsicle here and there. ;)

  • I'm having lots of swelling issues in ankles & feet this time around too.  My OB just said, lots of water and elevate when you can.  At my office, I have an excercise ball that I keep rolled under my desk to prop my feet up during the day.

  • It's odd, my feet swell like crazy when I'm sitting at my job all day, but when I've been standing and working all day, my feet are normal size. I look forward to the weekend when I'm busy doing stuff and on my feet and they're normal.

    I'm the same way!

Can you get in a pool?  Supposedly being in water up to your chest is good for reducing swelling.

My feet are unbelievably swollen at all times and my back pain is horrible.. I know exactly how you feel! Elevate, ice and if someone can massage your feet push the fluid up and out of your ankles. It will help immensely!
  • Ugh, we had not one, but TWO showers this weekend. Oh, and a 6 hour drive. My feet and cankles are huge. The NP at my Dr. office said elevation and compression are really the only answers. I actually ordered compression socks of amazon last week. They are super hot. Feeling more and more attractive every day! Yay!  :((
