UPDATE! IVF consultation is scheduled, mixed emotions

I just set up an appointment for IVF consultation at the RE. I'm sad because I never thought that we would end up here and this is a last resort for us. Still don't know how we will finance this, I have some great ideas thanks to you ladies, but it's a big stressor to think about spending that amount of money on something that isn't a sure thing. I think if this cycle ends in a BFN than we will just take a break for the remainder of the summer until we get finances in order and hopefully start the IVF process in September.

UPDATE: I talked with my grandparents today and they are willing to lend us what we need to pay for IVF. This has been a HUGE source of stress for me and I am so relieved to know that we will have the money. Maybe I will actually sleep tonight and my IF brain will shut up for awhile. I think that I will actually enjoy being on a break until September now.

I'm sorry, that sounds like a tough transition to make. I hope you don't even need that consult...but if so, I hope you can enjoy a relaxing summer break.

((Hugs)) I'm sorry. I know exactly how you feel, it's a sad, frustrating, realization. It's helped me to be on these boards and learn/research as much as I can to feel more comfortable about it. In the meanwhile, enjoy the rest of your summer you deserve it!

Hopefully you won't need it in the end! I struggled with each different step we've taken from having the conversation with our OB to seeing an RE to medications, injections, IUI... the one thing I have to remind myself at those times is that it's the end result to focus on, not the means. In the end, if it gets us our dream of starting a family, it won't matter how we got there.

Thanks girls, it really helps having a place to go to for support. My IRL friends and family just don't get it. If I hear "why don't you just adopt or do IVF" one more time I'm going to slap somebody. I guess everybody in my life has loads of cash just sitting in the bank and I don't lol. Back when we started our journey in August last year I never imagined that this is where we would end up. Even though our RE said we could do 2 more cycles of femara and TI, I just don't have it in me to go through the motions. Each BFN sends me into such a depression every month that I just can't do it anymore.

Me: 26 (IC/PCOS-2000mg of Metformin daily)

DH: 27 (SA results were great minus the slightly low morphology)

January 2013- Surprise BFP, m/c at 6 weeks, D&C 2 Weeks later

April 2014- First RE appointment

July 2014- IUI#1-Canx due to scar tissue and polyps. TI with the help of Ovidrel. BFN
