I know there have been a few threads about this lately, but I wanted to see where everyone fell on the tylenol spectrum :).

I have some twice--right after the shots before symptoms started, and the next day he woke up with a slight fever so I gave him some then too.

  • My LO was really fussy earlier in the day, cheered up a bit later in the day but for fussy again at night. I still have not given her any Tylenol. Hoping she sleeps ok tonight and is back to her cheery self tomorrow.

  • We were told no Tylenol before the shots because it could mask any reaction the shots may give him.
He never had a fever but he got super cranky and I did one dose of Tylenol.

  • Tylenol later that day when she had a fever. No extra sleeps for this one, she slept even less than usual that day.

  • I voted SS I didn't give Tylenol. But my dd only got fussy and cuddles from mommy and daddy helped.

  • I haven't given any yet. Shots were today. She has been really fussy, but I forgot to ask what dosage to give her, so for now we are just riding it out

We did this, we also gave some that night when we were getting him ready for bed, he was being fussy & felt a tad warm.
  • Weight check, Tylenol, then shots. He slept that whole afternoon and was really cranky when he woke up, but he was cheery by bath time. I gave him Tylenol during his middle of the night feeding and the next morning, per doctor's orders. He didn't develop a fever, and his thighs didn't even get red, but Skippy used to have febrile seizures, so the doctor recommended the Tylenol for 24 hours to prevent LO from spiking a fever.

  • DD was very irritable the evening of and you could tell it hurt he when I moved her legs around so I gave a Tylenol dose. I then gave her another one the following (late) morning because she felt as if she had a temp.

  • Tylenol after his legs were swollen and red poor babe:(
  • I redact my earlier statement. LO was so upset tonight and she had a fever, so I gave her some Tylenol and she has been sleeping ever since

  • Didn't give Tylenol. DS had a low fever that maxed out at 99 deg under the arm, so I didn't deem it necessary. He was a little fussy, but nothing that extra snuggles couldn't resolve.

  • Ibuprofen.  She didnt have a fever but after I put her to sleep she woke up screaming bloody murder about an hour later and her theigh was red and swollen.  Poor thing, it made me cry.  Doc told us to use ibuprofen, not tylenol.  Worked liked  charm

She was fussy and got no Tylenol. She was totally fine the next day.

The Tylenol reduces the efficacy of the vaccine so it's counterproductive unless the baby us is serious, serious discomfort.

DS got a fever so we gave him some Motrin and Tylenol (alternating). Plus, he cried and cried despite all my efforts so I knew he was in pain.

  • Our dr told us again (and its been this way with all of our kids) that DD isn't old enough for ibuprofen until 6 months.

  • Gave DS tylenol when we go home. It was clear that he was uncomfortable.
