Oh yea! I'm working summer school and I want to tell a few of the teachers because they ALWAYS asked when it was finally going to happen for us! One of them even joked about it today... it was hard not to just blurt it out right there!
You are not alone! With twins we are intending to keep it in as long as we can. I am so jealous of those friends that feel comfortable telling the world as early as 6weeks.

I find it to be awesome to tell random strangers. Like I was looking up a registry for a friend at Target and a GIANT pregnant lady was saying that she couldn't believe she waited so long to register. She said she was 7 months pregnant so I commented that I was 7 weeks pregnant. It felt SOOOO good to yell it from the rooftop to someone who didn't matter at all! LOL!

Twins? You mean two babies? WOW!
Team PURPLE!!
We are excited to meet William Alexander and Harper Abigail in 2015!
I am getting so excited at just the thought of telling people! But, someone in another thread mentioned that they loved how it was a special secret between her and her SO and I hadn't really thought about it like that. Whoever it was that said that, thank you! It really has given me a different perception of the whole situation and now I'm looking at it that way and it really helps, knowing this is something only he and I are sharing! :x
It's hard to wait, but i am not sure how people will react and other things are weighting on my mind as well.

I would love to tell people, especially with something as great as this. My DH and I are waiting until 12 weeks to tell anyone, including our families. I have really negative physical manifestations of stress and my family is all about the drama so I'm trying to do what's best for baby and for me. It is hard to wait, though. 6 more weeks!
My husband and are having our first child and we are THRILLED. It's killing me to not stop people on the street and tell them lol. And I am SO anxious to get our first appt done but have to wait on insurance to get a referral, worst/best part is we're taking a 2 week vacation and I may have to wait until I'm 10 weeks before I get my first appt and u/s..it's killing me!!! (In the best way possible : ) Just had to vent/share!
Frantically waves hand, Me me me!! We are trying to make it closer to 16wks before really telling. But it's getting harder by the day. My family knows so that makes it much easier, but I'm getting anxious.

Yes!! I also want to tell random strangers because then I get to say it but it doesn't matter!! I've also been trying to look at it as our little secret with my husband. I did tell my sister this weekend and a friend who was really good at getting it out of me. ;-)
I've told more people than most of you probably have. We've been very open about our infertility struggles and so we've told people that we would tell if we had a miscarriage anyway.
We have a very weird modge podge of people that know. My parents and brother know, and that's about it for family. Well, other than my cousins who are more like my sisters.
However, DH and I work for the same company and he spilled the beans to a guy last week. I've told my current boss, and a couple of close friends at work. Others have started to figure it out and I don't deny it when they mention it and ask.
With our DD we didn't wait long to tell anyone, but I was having a terrible time with my gallbladder and in and out of the hospital with that. So work pretty much knew right away, as well as our family. I wouldn't worry much about waiting, but since I had the mc in March I just figured it was best to wait until at least my first appointment.
Funny story. One of my patients asked me if I was pregnant(not in a mean way, just the elderly putting their noses in your business way) since she told me she had a feeling when I would have been only 4 weeks. I didn't know at the time so I said "no!" I saw her again and started to apologize so I went ahead and told her she was right and I was wrong! Lol.
It's hard to not tell people because we have been really open about our infertility as well. Many people know when our last IUI was, so they can do the math and know if we know or not. It makes it too hard not to tell them what we know, especially because we are so excited!! I don't want to tell most people until I at least see the little bean on an ultrasound
I know I'm in the minority but I am not eager to tell anyone (obviously DH knows). I'm more self conscious of my bloated belly. With my 3rd pregnancy, it was blatantly obvious at 10 weeks. I'm worried about having to tell people before we are ready (wanting to wait until 2nd trimester). It helps that we live in Europe and not close to family at all but it's all the other day to day friends and acquaintances that will know soon enough just by looking at me.
I have only told my siblings, my parents and DH told his mom.... But I really want to tell my close girl friends, but I am trying my hardest to wait until my first ultrasound in about two weeks...so hard holding it in and DH is having a hard time holding it in as well, he want to tell his siblings so bad, but he has too wait.
With our first we told people the day we found out we were pregnant and I am definitely struggling not to tell anyone yet! The only reason that we are waiting is because we are going to tell people next month at our daughter's first birthday. Miscarriage is something that a lot of people don't talk about but so many women have suffered through them, even if I miscarry before I tell my family I'm pregnant I will tell them about it.

We are telling my parents in a week...it is too far away. :-) I agree with @WanderingA that even if I miscarry, we will tell our parents--we would want the support. It is just easier to not have them get excited and then disappointed.
I'm right there with you guys! I have a bunco club tomorrow night and normally we all drink also I asked for OB references from some of them so I know they might put 2 and 2 together. I don't know if we will wait until the second tri to tell local friends, but I at least want to tell family first. Our first appointment is in less than 2 weeks and we are visiting my family shortly after that. We will tell them then and tell the in-laws when we see them after that.
I am dreadful at not telling people! I was very open about doing ivf and so lots of people have been asking how I am etc and I find it so hard to lie to them! So both sets of parents know as well as several close friends we see regularly and a few of my close work friends. I have another 9 days to wait before my first scan. It feels so far away!
