Not breastfeeding boob question!

For those not breastfeeding - how long has it taken (if already) your boobs gone back to normal size? Stop feeling like filled with milk? Trying to figure out if I am there or not!! Thanks!!!

It seemed like it took a couple weeks before I didn't feel like there was some milk in them. It was probably about that same time that I started wearing my non-nursing bras again. I don't think that they have actually gone back to pre-pregnancy size though. Honestly I don't really expect them too, they never did after DS1 was born.

  • Just got some new bras at VS sale. LO was a month yesterday. I went up a cup size. I would say my milk dried up 3 days after I stopped pumping (I weaned). You can tell because that heaviness underneath is gone alone with any tenderness.
  • Mine are back to normal...I grew 2 cup sizes. I stopped BFing like a week in, was engorged for about 5 days or so, and now DS is a month old and they are totally back to normal and not leaking anymore either. So maybe 2-3 weeks?

Some women go back to their normal size; some stay bigger, and some shrink down to smaller than they were before.  It's different for each woman.  If they haven't shrunk 3 months after you stop nursing, chances are they're here to stay.
