I'm 9 DP IUI. Eh. Not much to report at this point. I'll test at the end of the week.

GTKY: Embarrassing admission, but I just finished reading the Selection series and really enjoyed it.

Day 14 of 21 of BCPs for me. I posted a separate thread about my appointment this past Thursday, so I won't rehash that. My next appointment is a week from today for my baseline u/s and blood work.

ETA: My mind just isn't with it today. All I can think about is Manada and Healz

. Anyway, I forgot to add in my original post that I received great news in the mail on Saturday. It looks like my insurance will cover all of my ultrasounds and blood work, so I will just have copays. This will save us a minimum of $1000.

QOTW: I just started (yesterday) reading Divergent. I love it so far. It seems similar to the The Hunger Games series. I love books like those where they are easy to read and I can get caught up in a whole different world.

For anyone who doesn't read the pregnancy check in, @firstcomeslove2013 is heading up organizing a few things for Manada and Healz413 as our way of helping them out in this difficult time. If you are interested in participating and have not received a PM from her, please PM her. She would like to have all of the money in by Wednesday so that we can get things started for them quickly.

I just left the RE...this month she gave me Follistim, like actually gave it to me, because my insurance doesn't cover it. I love her! IUI 8 & 9 are tomorrow and Wednesday. I have 6 follicles...last cycle I had 4---and my lining is outstanding! All of this and the addition of Mr Super Sperm Donor make me very hopeful for this cycle.

@TwoMomsInTX‌ my wife LOVES Legos....they we're our wedding cake topper!

@StacyLH24‌ sorry about all the probing and speculum issues! I know how much it sucks. My cervix never behaves! Good luck this cycle!

I'm currently reading The Signature of All Things by Elizabeth Gilbert....it's yummy.

@CrazyAunt84‌ - I took Femara/Letrozole for four months. The side effects weren't terrible for me. I did have a slight headache and one burst of rage/anger/over reaction.

@wishiwaspreggo‌ - I'm keeping things tightly crossed for you. I know you're at peace with the next steps you are taking, but I'm still hopeful it isn't time for you to move on yet.

@HollynLeana‌ - You are brave to proceed with so many follies! Did they tell you what your e2 is and if all 6 are mature?

@TwoMomsinTX - I'm glad you're getting closer to starting. The waiting can feel never ending!

Thank you for your support, @StacyLH24 - C is very much hoping I'm pregnant, for obvious reasons lol... But as much as I'd like to be, it's not easy to think this cycle will be any different than my last cycles. I'm treating myself gently and trying to be as positive as I can be for C.

@wishiwaspreggo - You're welcome. I 100% get where you're coming from. It gets harder and harder to be hopeful. Even with IVF I have it in the back of my mind that that positive will never come. Hopefully we are both wrong.

Aw, IVF is a whole new beast, @StacyLH24!!!! You're going to do great I'd be much more hopeful if I was doing IVF myself - of course it can fail, but its failure rate is much, much lower than IUI. I am very hopeful for you. IVF has worked magic on many IF folks.

I'll likely do IVF myself in a year if this IUI doesn't work, assuming C gets knocked up easily with a singleton.

Not sure why but my original post is blank. Lets try this again.

I am 11dpo and I am 99% sure AF is going to make an appearance this month. I caved and POAS this morning, BFN. I keep trying to tell myself that I tested too early, that AF isn’t due till Wednesday, but I think deep down I know that’s not the case. I also feel like I’m not doing everything I can as far as TTC is concerned. I know everybody’s experience is different, but I find myself comparing myself to other bumpies wondering why my RE isn’t monitoring me, or having me do blood draws and such. I know that I haven’t been TTC for long, and that this was my first IUI with an RE, but I’m a perfectionist and I want to try and to everything right from the start.

Anyway, thanks for listening to my little rant. Best of luck to everyone TTC.

Day 1p back to back IUI. I had 2 follies (19mm and 13mm). For 4 cycles that have been monitored, all follicles have been on the right side. I wonder if that means the left side doesn't work at all. I am having unusual bloating and cramps today which I am trying not to get too worried about.

After the IUI on Saturday, the nurse was giving me the spiel about when to POAS, etc. and then added "They recommend having intercourse tonight or tomorrow." So annoying that she clearly had not taken any time to look at my chart and made so many assumptions with that statement. I didn't have the right words at the time to intelligently respond. This is an example of how the experience at this RE office has been. Staff are friendly, but not seemingly invested in me. I am one number among many women. I am always fascinated by how many women are there in the mornings for ultrasounds-each one with their own TTC story.

I have been told the statistical chances of success for IUI are low at this point. My DW is more pessimistic than I am and she is very hesitant about doing anything that messes with natural biology of conception. We both have jobs that expose us to the rare but real possibilities of medical complications, so on a philosophical level we are unsure about pushing our luck for selfish reasons of wanting children. All this to say, I am not sure how much longer we will be on this TTC journey. Sometimes I wish life were one of those choose your own adventure books-to be able to go back and find out how different choices in life would turn out.

@CrazyAunt84-I think that is pretty cool that they are working acupuncture into your plan.

@Becky109-I also spent a lot of time wondering if my plan was the right way to do things. I am thankful for this board. Based on what I learned from others here, I have asked my RE about a few alternatives-such as ultrasound monitoring, timing of IUI after ovidrel and the back to back IUI. For the most part they have been receptive to my suggestions because there is no one right way to go about this.

@StacyLH24‌ me e2 was 1200 yesterday---my doc that us consistent with 6 mature eggs....is that accurate?

@HollynLeana - Yes, it is. They say about 150-200 per mature follie.

Thanks @StacyLH24‌ I really think it's too early for the IUIs but the dr said my follicles were ready to go...1200 seems like a good healthy number

@HollynLeana - Did he talk to you about the odds of high order multiples? I know the odds are small, but if all your follies are mature, there is always the potential that all 6 could fertilize and implant...or any lower combination as well.

@StacyLH24‌ yes---we went over the likelihood of multiples---she said she would cancel at 7-8 follies, so it is a bit concerning...she said her main concern would be for triplets....I just really hope one implants---the move to ivf is so daunting...but we may end up going that route.

While the potential for HOM is there for 6 follicles, the odds of all 6 literally fertilizing and implanting are very slim. Even 3 would have to be pretty lucky (unlucky?). Sometimes follicles don't contain an egg. Try not to worry too much

@krystaloowho‌ I have one tomorrow too! Mine are 24 hrs apart...one is 12 hrs after my trigger and one is 36...48 seems like a lot...FX for you

Thank you @crazyaunt84 and @mellebee for the advice! I'm going to continue with some research and bring up my concerns to my RE on my next visit.
