I feel like a horrible wife!

Because I've been feeling horrible with ms, fatigue, and the flu a few weeks back, I haven't bought DH anything for our first wedding anniversary (which is 6/23). I looked online, but guys are so much harder to buy for than us girls. I mean, I booked and paid for an overnight stay in Santa Barbara tomorrow, but I thought I'd be able to find a gift to give him. Plus, I was sick with the flu for his birthday on the 4th, and didn't get him anything then either! I just tell myself that I'm growing our baby for him....your other gifts will have to be late! LOL

Instead of a traditional gift, what about an experience- type gift on your overnight? Like, pay for a fancy bed in breakfast room service ? Or if there's a spa in your hotel, get him a massage? Maybe get a card and explain your gift is a massage at the spa or whatver .

I've done gifts like that because sometimes stuff is just stuff. A meaningful memory is a good gift too

The traditional first gift is paper. I got this really cool "fill in the blank" book from Barnes and noble full of quirky facts and love stuff and answered all the questions.

He couldn't put it down & read it from cover to cover.

Was super easy to do.

I'm going to write him a letter for the "paper" gift...but months ago, I saw this "love book" online that was really cute. You basically told your story and all the pictures are stick figures....but you design each page yourself. I didn't get it then, because I was looking for something better, but I may still do it and give it to him late. I think he'll like it because it's personalized.

I had the same issue back in May. I paid for a night at the b&b where we got married last year but didn't get him an actual gift. I did buy him a new pair of sandals while we were in Santa Cruz and he appreciated that. I didn't even give him the card I had bought, it totally slipped my mind. But I am growing his baby so it all works out.

We go with tradition on the year, first is paper and I got him a certificate for a spa here in town for a guys day of pampering. He loved it.
If you have an us pic you could do something cool with that?
